Is google starting to block Jamster..

As i said to Matt last week, google is starting to block jamster products from appearing in there searches.

Firstly i noticed that if you have Jamster in your title or on your website then you will be penalized so you will not see any websites with Jamster in the title coming up for any of jamsters products

Now if you search for 'crazy frog' in google you only get 1 page.

Dont think so, for crazy frog google is still saying 1-10 of 1,240,000 for me.

Also if you put say Jamster stars as the search term you get loads of pages with jamster in the title and if I put just Jamster as the search term I get loads of pages with jamster in the title

So I reckon either a) there is some other penalty on the sites you're looking for or b) you've got spyware or something similar on your pc which is corrupting your google results.

Still saying 1-10 of 10 for me???

Could it be something to do with different data centers or something?

Sorry you beat me to it

Could be different data centres, or could be your ISP - do you get google.co.uk results or something else - I wonder if Google thinks you are viewing from the USA or somewhere.

What i meant by Jamster in the title, last month when i searched for crazy frog, i saw loads of sites using jamster in there title, now there is none, same goes for sweety chick etc..

If i search for a Jamster term they do come up fine but not when i search for a jamster product

If it is spyware on my computer... ill check in a minute, then how many people is this effecting???, perhaps it may count towards the lower sales.

What search term are you typing Andy?, i obvioulsy havent tried every search keyword :-), but for an example

last month when i search for 'sweety chick'
http://www.google.co.uk/search?biw=1...e+Search&meta=

Loads of websites contained 'Jamster' in there title on the first few pages, now there are none at all on the first few pages, they will still be there but further back in the results, so im pressuming they have been penalized for having a brand name in there title...

Perhaps google do this because they know a big percentage of affiliates have a brand name in there title.. and google dont like affiliates in natural searches, they like them to pay PPC)

Jamster.co.uk is the only one showing with Jamster in there title.

Like Keith i'm still seeing millions of results so there's soemthing going on at your send Lee.

One thing does come to mind though and that is that the channel operator or content administrator at google (what ever they call themselves these days) will be clamping down on the level of spam found in the results.

It makes perfect sense that a search for crazy frog sould NOT list dozens of sites selling ringtones. It's to the advantage of the surfer that the results on that search return something like the jamster site, bbc news articles, crazy frog games, blogs etc. If the viewer wanted the ringtone they should of course be searching for "crazy frog ringtone" or "buy crazy frog"

I don't know about you but I'm sick and tired of seeing results like this...

crazy-frog.0u0.ne

crazy-frog-tone.0u0.ne

crazy-frog-ringtone.0u0.ne

crazyfrog.0u0.ne

crazy-dj-frog.0u0.ne

If you want to appear high in the natural serps i think it's time we all stepped up our game. I had several no.1 positions for a while untill this subdomain flooding came about. It's taken a while but a few adjustments here and there seems to be having a positive effect.
