It's because in their internal calculations TD work to 3 decimal places - dont ask why!!
Hi,
Having a look at the event breakdown report, I have found that the total at the bottom of the page does not equal the sum of the commissions on the page.
Have a look, I thought 3x17 = 0.51 not 0.50

It gets worse as you add more commissions, come on these pennies add up!
Can TD tell us why?
I bet it is to do with rounding.

Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.
If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.
Hi,
So are you saying these would be 0.170 in the report.
But still 0.170 x3 = 0.51 on my calculator.
Can you explain a bit more for me the IT thickie.
Thanks
Daniel
They could all be worth 0.165 each, which would be rounded up when displayed to £0.17.
3* 0.165 = 0.495, which would get displayed as £0.50
Similarly, if they were worth 0.174 each, they should still show as £0.17 but the total should be £0.52 (0.522)
Ultimately, as long as you earn commissions of different values, there should be minimal diffence between the total of commission if you round to the nearest penny for each line or if you just round the total (the number of commissions that get rounded down should be roughly the same as the number that get rounded up).
I don't think they'll be cutting you it will just be as said the software doing it automatically on screen layouts![]()
OK, thanks.
Just what I thought then, it's due to rounding.
Thanks
Dan

Rich is correct - good knowledge by the way!
Kind regards,
