I have been working on the programme for a few months and have decided to move to pastures new from the 13th September. Hello,

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Matthew Dean and I am the new Affiliate Manager from EmpireDirect. I have taken over from Loretta Clinton who has moved on to pastures new.

As of today I have updated all our logos and banners in the Affiliate Window interface and would ask that you can update any old banners or logos to these new ones.

If you have any questions, queries, comment, ideas, or if you would just like a chat please don't hesitate to contact me.

I will soon be introducing some new offers that should really make a difference to the most important part of the chain, your commissions, so watch this space. Again if there is anything I can do to help please just let me know.

Welcome to your new role, Matthew! Top of my agenda for things you could do to help would be:

1. Remove the phone number from everywhere other than the "contact us" page.

2. Remove the hugely intrusive and affiliate-unfriendly "planetvalue" link for affiliate-sourced traffic.

If you can sort those, you'll be making an excellent start.

(I've emailed Matthew to ask him to reply here, btw, so we can all see Empire Direct's response.)

PS. For those sharp eyed folk who think I've put this in the wrong network thread, the email was via TradeDoubler messaging, not AW as the email suggests.

Hello Jon and to everyone on Affiliates4u,

this looks like a good opportunaty to get my first real post up and hit the ground running.

Can I also say thanks Jon for starting the ball rolling, I honestly want to make a difference with Empire's approach to our affilates, and the best way to find out problems you have is if you tell me.

I will need to speak to our web team and my director over this weekend, so I will come back to you with an answer on Monday/Tuesday next week to this one.

Sorry for the delay in getting an answer, but as they say the best things come to those who wait

So... the answer to both questions is YES

To confirm we will provide an affiliate only version of our website, without the telephone number anywhere, except under 'contact us' and without any links to Planet Value.

I will put a new post up and send out emails when I have the full details, time, links etc but if anyone has questions in the meantime feel free to email me.
To note this will apply to both our affiliates through Tradedoubler and Affiliate Window.

If there is anything else I can do just let me know.

Excellent news - I've been waiting for Empire Direct to drop the phone numbers since time began (well it feels that long)

Just to keep you all up to date:

1: An affiliate version of the site with out the phone number is underway and will be ready to go in approximately 2 weeks.

2: The 'Planet Value' link has been dropped completely from the Empire Direct website as of now. This is on our normal web site, so there is no need for you to make any changes.

On a separate note I will be producing a newsletter starting next week with best sellers, promotions etc, and was wondered does anyone have anything they would specifically like to see? If so send me an email and I'll see what I can do.

Again if there is anything I can do to help out let me know.
