Programs Closing

Hi all,

When a program closes on the TradeDoubler Network you normally receive an email from the Account Manager stating the date of closure. Hopefully you get enough notice to pull your links down in time.

However, i noticed that many affiliates do not receive these emails, either because you have unsubscribed, email goes to junk folder, or you forget because we gave you too much notice

Also, how many times have you spent creating great landing pages or sites targetting an advertiser only to find out they are closing the next day?

So, to solve this problem we will rename a program as soon as we find out it is shutting down. This means everytime you run a report or try to apply to a closing program you will see this information very clear.

Today we announced Opinion World is closing come end of November. I have renamed this so it now looks like: Opinion World - Program Closing 30/11/05

That's a really good initiative. It's good to know that TD are acting on sugestions from affiliates. Thanks.

And once its Closed can you do this.

[closed] merchant name

rather than

Merchant name [closed]

I have spoke to someone at TD about this as the report seems to keep closed merchants for months after wards, this way it will give you all the closed merchants at the top of the report, so given you chance to make sure your links or removed if you miss it.

Is there a list of expiring/expired merchants on TD site so we can check ourselves to see if we've missed anything?

Bod - Unfortunately we cannot do this because if a affiliate searches for his program e.g. Opinion world, this will not show up in the results because it starts with [clo.... etc.

Mogga - We do have such a report
Please log in and click on INFORMATION --> latest program info.

If the Merchant was closed, then why would someone want to search for it.... I know i wouldnt.

Hi guys,

Bod - If an affiliate is unaware that a program closed and then tries to find this program they will not be able to if we change the way the program name begins. You can still type in closed in our search menu and all the closed programs will appear.

Mogga - The report i mentioned above gives you a list of all new programs and closed programs on the TradeDoubler Network. We do not have a report to show future closing programs.

However if you use our search menu and type in closing then it will give you a list of all future closing programs.
