Hi gents,
this issue is duplicated on another thread we have responded on, so going forward we will only be posting on this thread regarding the reversal issue.
Many thanks,
Nick

Nice to Know its across the board although not nice for those affected.
I can see maybe a handful of errors but the level of reservals is massive.
It's reassuring that Tradedoubler have acknowledged & are dealing with on the forum, yet disappointing that under the impression PC World were preparing a statement, affiliates have not been notified / informed by PC World by both email & posting on the forum.

Hi,
I am not an affiliate of PCworld but do use cashback sites. I have bought a router via my link online to collect at store.
When I have picked up they said as I was business that I couldnot use the collect at store service and therefore would have to start again but would honor the web price.
My cashback via the site was cancelled.
Do staff instore work on commission would be one of my questions?
Regards
Barry
They certainly work on sales related bonuses when asking one assistant recently & could be a pandora's box, to make inhouse sales look better, surely they would have thought of that or did they?Do staff instore work on commission would be one of my questions?

So the sale may not be being transacted through collect @ store but put through the POS under another guise?
I am not an affy with PC World (yet) - if someone posts a URL I'll make a test purchase.

ok, can you try purchasing one of these through my site?
I'm pleased Nick and PC World are at least aware of this issue and look forward to a positive outcome however with PC World staff on commission ISTM there's an ongoing clash of interests.
(I've got a scary PC World Tech support story too, but here's not the place for that!)

Just checked and found a camera I bought myself from PCW collect@store has been reversed along with more than 20 other PCW c@s sales.
Hey top5kit,
If only!!!!!
Playing devil's advocate, could it not be possible that collect@store is simply being rung through the till as a regular sale and then shown on the collect@store system as a no-show?
If I was in retail management with targets to hit I would be pretty p*ssed off if people could buy online and then collect in store - I bet those sales don't go towards their target.
Also if I worked in a retail outlet I wouldn't want head office to think that a significant proportion of sales come from the internet as it could affect store closures going forwards.
When I worked in retail many years ago the branch figures were placed on a flipchart in the canteen and updated daily. I guess not much has changed as all stores are targetted on turnover.

You've got to remember that PC World / Tradedoubler were pushing Collect at Store very strongly once last delivery dates had gone at Christmas in order to get affiliates to keep their links / PPC bids in place.
I'm amazed that they haven't done the honourable thing by now and overruled all of those reversals. Each hour that they delay does untold damage to their reputation. Which affiliates are going to want to promote them in the future knowing that they might pull this same stunt again ?.
The sale i did was through the section they marked for Click & Collect, i just feel that the lady that served me changed something so the sale went to her, as where i used to live the store staff if they helped you gave you a ticket with a number on so they got the sale.
For me its a joke how something like this can happen and this is very close to fraud by PC world, not a simple error as they may say.
I used to work for PC World before I started working from home and I can tell you that all the sales people work on a bonus and the managers. Support and service people don't work on a bonus scheme but they do get a small bonus every now and again if the store hits there targets or they sell a particular product that is on 'head office offer'.
As you can imagine the targets set by head office are mostly unacheivable and if you do finally hit them they always raise the bar for the next quater. Hence I used to hate working for them and was soon moved out to the store room after telling countless sustomers how to get round the insane rules that operate within PC World.
I suspect that collect at store products are being put through a sales persons number, if infact this does void the affiliates commission. (BTW a instore salesperson get paid far less than us affiliates for a sale, poor people! but they do get a salary, though its a very low one considering the presure thats placed upon them to hit targets)
LOL....Too Funny
Just received an email from TD telling me that I'd qualified for a PC World Christmas bonus of £200 for sending over £10,000 worth of collect@store traffic.
So....they reverse over £100,000 worth of collect@store traffic (about three and a half grand in commission) but they send me £200 as a bonus
That's alright then![]()
