  Bose headphones - any good?

Have just noticed Bose are on TD - I think they've been around a few months, but read a comment or two about approval times, which I hope they've worked on.

Those noise cancelling headphones are something I've been wanting to try out for a while, and every time I'm sitting on a train or a plane when some kid strats screaming, I kick myself for not having a set.

Just wondering if they are as good as the ads claim, and if anyone's tried them out yet?

I had tried the headphones in a Bose shop and they worked a treat. I love Bose gear, i have a system at home and would not swap it.

Not sure the neighbours appreciate the sub though!

"Not sure the neighbours appreciate the sub though!"

So why not point them towards your affiliate link for a pair of those headphones?

Heh, the applications are endless...

Haven't seen the adverts, but yes, they are pretty good. They do what they say on the tin and cancel out noise pretty well. If you don't believe me (or them) go into a bose store and they'll be happy to let you try some on.

Problem is, you have to walk round with a massive great big pair of DJ headphones on! I have a pair of etymotic research ER6i's (Google it ) and they costed me £60 off ebay. They work just as well as the Bose ones (with the foam plugs in) and they're not nearly expensive.

I know this is getting a bit of topic, but if you want the mother of all headphones, get a pair of these (don't know where the aff. prog is though...)

I bought some from the US a few years back. They're excellent, but they won't cancel out screaming kids. Like other noise cancelling headphones, they're designed to block "steady" background noise (like plane engines), which they do very effectively.

I tested mine at home against a cheaper brand by sitting in front of the TV with it tuned to static and the volume cranked up. No-one was there to see me, thankfully The Bose won hands down - and were more comfy, too.

There's obviously a bit of general sound blocking too, because the cups physically cover your ears, but that's the only impact they'll have on other types of noise.

So if a cabin attendant speaks to you, for example, you'll still be able to hear them OK - you'll notice that they don't even raise their voices, as they know how they work, too.

Sound quality is lurrrvely, of course, being Bose. Go for it!

for me, i like the wrap around Sony head phones. they are good for working out, at my desk and most of all they do not mess my hair up. ya, it sounds girlish, but it is not the best thing in the world to walk into the meeting with a huge valley seperating you hemispheres on your head.

Here is a good key to find good head phones:
Look for ones taht fit tight on your ears, or in them, and get the ones with teh wides range of Frequency. It is stated on the back of the box, (Hz) 12 - 24,000 as good as you can get without looking like you have salad bowls on your ears.
