Are Auto Trader Warranty Direct still nothing more than a glorified affiliate of The AA, if so why allow this?

Or has this now changed? If changes have been made from previous problems then fine.

Also maybe perhaps a bit of quality control is needed. On www.autotrader.co.uk They have numerous ads to other loan and insurance companies for which affiliates don't receive commisions. I reckon vehicle checks is maybe one of their lower volume and / or earners than the rest of the affiliations they have. They even have sponsored links.

It's like various insurance programs which only have one of their suite of products which is commissionable like business insurance yet they also sell home, travel & car insurance etc.

At least it initially appears the aff links goto www.vehiclecheck.co.uk as against www.autotrader.co.uk, but we haven t been thru the whole sales cycle or seen possible subsequent emails. We are simply being cautious especially how the program operated on dgm before.

I’d like to reassure you about the quality of both the Vehicle Check product and the Autotrader program on TradeDoubler.



Autotrader Vehicle Check is Autotrader’s own product, it does not redirect to the AA at any stage of the check process. The product has been delivered to offer consumers an easy to use provenance check to ensure they are not making poor investments when they look to purchase a car. The product ties in well with Autotrader’s business model of advertising used cars, hence its development.



Unfortunately, autotrader.co.uk is not a site that handled by TradeDoubler at present so we have limited input on the types of ads that are displayed but we will be sure to forward your feedback on to Autotrader directly so that they are aware of the potential problem.



The only product we are working on with Autotrader at this time is the Vehicle Check, although we are hoping to include more of the product range in the future. We will send out emails to affiliates if we are able to incorporate more products for you to potentially promote.



As you point out, the affiliate links click directly through to the Vehicle Check URL, there is no diversion through the homepage and therefore leakage is minimized.



I understand that there may have been problems with the Autotrader affiliate program in the past but their approach to affiliates has completely changed over the past couple of years.



We are promoting a great, user friendly product.

We have implemented top-grade G2 tracking and are closely monitoring stats

And a dedicated affiliate manager is working on the program to help optimize affiliate opportunities
