    Hi Harriers9,

Thanks for your feedback. We are currently working on a new project to improve the sign up process and when registering/adding new sites to your accounts.

This project will simplify the process and make it easier to add new sites to your accounts using an exisitng relatioship.

However, the reason we have seperate sites set up is because users sometimes prefer to see stats individually for their sites and advertisers need to approve sites if they are completely different (travel, forums, adult, finance etc). There are also other factors which need to be considered, such as FSA rules.

    Please keep the feedback coming....

    Cheers,

    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for starting this thread - it's always good to see networks being proactive in inviting feedback.

As a crossborder affiliate at TD Pull, I'd like to see a "Crossborder" option in the top-left dropdown menu, so that when I am in TD UK and I search for known creatives or merchants I don't get an error message saying: "Does not exist" and then have to switch to TD FR or TD DE or whatever, after which point suddenly it does exist again.

When scanning the catalogue for new potential merchants, it would save a lot of time to be able select Crossborder first and then to go through all merchants in any country under a specific category rather than go through all the merchants under that category in the UK, then all the merchants under that category in the Netherlands, then all the merchants under that category in Germany etc.

    Thanks!

    Hi Iskander,

    Thanks for the feedback :-)

I totally understand where you are coming from! Usability wise...... it's not great. Unfortunately the system is set up that way because each market has its own id and the sites need to be associated to an id so that you can apply directly to that program. if you logged in under a crossborder id you would be able to view programs but you will not be able to apply to them..... thus going back to square one.

I will discuss this further with our developers and pick their brains :-)

If you have any further suggestions on this topic please drop me an email!

    Cheers
    Andy Andreou

    Hi,

    Couple of things:

    1. To avoid being reliant on spotting emails when there's a tracking problem...

Could there be an Alert / exclamation mark or similar on a merchants link page, especially on the deeplink construction area to show the existence of a problem ?
I've missed emails in the past about tracking problems - easily done when you've got hundreds coming in !

    2. (more tricky i think)

Been a few instances of the deeplink construction example url's not relating to the merchant urls. ie. the construction example not being up to date / or merchant changes their coding etc. Although I know Harrods have tracking problems, it looks as if the deeplinks would never have worked anyway, because the merchant example urls shown are nothing like the urls on the merchant site. Same happened with Yoox a while ago.

So, 2(a) could there be a 'last checked' somewhere for the deeplink construction ?

There's also a general issue (all networks) of being unclear about whether a search result url from a merchant site will work on a deeplink or not. I know some tracking works regardless of what url you stick on the end and some looks as if it won't. There seem to be big variations on some sites in the url depending on how you reach products.

2(b) Any possibility of a checkbox table to let you know what will work, won't work and whats 'risky' ie. product / category / sub-category / search url ?

Not so important if you can't track where the sale came from - more that you want to know if you'll get the commission or not. So at least you can take a safe tracking route if in any doubt.

Given recent experience, I'd certainly second Aotagain's suggestion as a valuable feature.

If networks are to be the "trusted third-party" for the merchant and the affiliate, surely as well as policing the affiliates, that should include basic, simple linking-101 style checks on the creative they offer to affiliates on behalf of merchants?

Sure it's another job to be done - to click each link once a week and verify that it goes to the right website, the right product and the right offer. I still see creatives that say "valid until Wednesday" and which were last updated in May 2007! Which Wednesday is that and why are the creatives still there?

If networks dont do it, every one of their affiliates has to do it individually, or risk sending traffic to a dead page for months on end.

Surely a lot of time-related creatives could be removed automatically by simply having a date/timestamp expiry field added into the database. Prompt merchants that if an offer is time or event-related, they attach a cut-off date, after which the creative just disappears off the network interface ?

We can spot it ourselves of course, but difficult sometimes finding a current creative amongst old ones, especially if there's a lot present.

Not specific to TD at all.
Actually a lot of this shouldn't just be on this TD thread -
Is there a general 'address all the networks at once' section on the forum ??

It's too easy to criticise in this business and so I'd firstly like to start by thanking TD for being a great network, with fantastic, knowledgeable staff who don't generally move to/from other networks every six months; an amazing range of brand name advertisers; an incredible array of reporting tools; and useful, well-run events.

In terms of possible further development:

    (1) Suggested this to both Swedish and UK TD staff about four years ago, but would be nice to have text pools as well.

Text links convert better than banners and we've done very well with text pools on another network that has this functionality.

    (2) Would also be helpful if program closures, commission decreases and non-tracking merchants were mentioned on the publisher interface homepage. With TD - as with many other networks - anything negative is hidden away and hard to access.

    (3) AdTool - wasted many many hours fiddling with it and not very user-friendly.

Overall, though, 2007 was a good year to work with TD and I hope things will be just as good in 2008.

Maybe it's not specific to TD but it is most definitely a TD problem and this is the TD forum - so it certainly belongs here.

We can spot the boobs ourselves, and so far, it seems like that's how the system works but they don't make it easy to report them when we do spot them or to get the problems fixed.

And really, preventing/spotting the boobs should be the networks' job in the first place.

I was wondering if Tradedoubler has a Web Services system similar to CJ and AW that would allow our developers to draw Tradedoubler user interface into our own in-house applications. I'm not terribly tecchy so forgive me if my jargon isn't correct.

    Cheers

    Hi Will,

If you are looking to access reporting data, you would be best to submit this request via the "Contact Support" form within the interface. This will then raise a ticket where we can access your account information.
