    Hi everyone…

As some of you may know I recently changed roles at TradeDoubler. I am no longer part of the UK publisher team (quite sad about that) but have taken up the role of Publisher Director td Pull.

The good news is that part of my new role is investigating and prioritising new publisher developments (working alongside Lars Farstad – Product Development Manager td Pull).

We have some great ideas and visions for things we want developed! However, I’d really like to hear from you. What would you like developed from TradeDoubler?

I’d really appreciate your thoughts and if one of the mods can make this a sticky!

    Cheers,
    Andy Andreou

The tradedoubler clock on the server appears to be wrong. For example if I go in and run an Event Breakdown Report now (11pm) the date defaults to tomorrow. It seems to assume its 12pm (one hour ahead).

Also, whenever you clicked on a linked program name from within the TD interface it takes you to the actual merchant site when it should really take you to the merchant detail page.

    Congrats Andy

Currently one of the things that stops me doing more with TD is the merchant directory structure / functionality. I find it quite difficult to effectively search for new people to promote. The categories merchants are listed under are a bit broad. For example, its quite tedious to trawl around for lingerie merchants under "shopping".

I must confess I often get fed up and go looking at other networks with more intuitive directory structures first.

The reporting system on TradeDoubler runs on CET (Central European Time) and unfortunately cannot be changed. The reporting clock cannot be set to run in tandem with the clock on your PC as this would affect the stats in our reporting.

(Although I realise this is no consolation, other companies experience similar problems, like Google AdWords.)

I apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused and if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.

The ability to view denied sales by the actual date they were denied. Currently trying to track down denied sales is a complete nightmare. It's been said a hundred times yet it's never been implemented.

There should also be an extra field where a merchant can add a reason for the denied sale.

    Hi guys,

    Thanks for the comments

In TradeDoubler terms, td Pull is the affiliate network.

Some of the developments are short term projects while others due to complexity and priority will be long term projects.

I will do my best to keep you all in the loop on what is being developed and constantly check the thread for ideas.

    Keep them coming....

    Thanks
    Andy

What about a products web service? Commission Junction have one, Affiliate Window have one, why not TD?

    Hi Jack,

    Thanks for your feedback!

We don’t have an exact replica of those products. However, we have a similar product. Our 'Product Search' functionality allows you to use a URL query string to return XML with virtually any product available in the TradeDoubler database (Product Cache). The XML returned from the product search functionality can contain a list of anywhere from 1 to 100 products based on the parameters used.

The product search functionality is in essence an API to our product database. It allows you to query our entire product feed database on-the-fly and return product data based on the parameters you have used.

This solution is extremely flexible and can be utilised in many different ways. If you would like more information please contact our Publisher Support team and we can give you further suggestions.

To find this please navigate to Ad Management --> Product Search Tool.

We will be developing this functionality further and offering you various tools in the future! Watch this space :-)

    Kind regards,

    Andy

    Hi all,

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update since my first post.

I am sure you have noticed in recent months we have made quite a few pleasant releases to the interface :-)

Here is a complete breakdown of the changes and new functionality we have released:
    • Payment Breakdown Report - This is my favourite development! The existing payment report now allows you to drill down to a breakdown of PAID transactions for each event. In the past publishers have found it very difficult to identify which individual transactions have actually been paid. Now it’s very clear :-)
    • Publisher Account Snapshot - Publisher Snapshot provides you with website statistics in a simple and easy to use format from the moment you log in to the Publisher interface
    • My Text Links Export functionality - This functionality will enable you to generate text links for a number of programs
    • Text Link Generators added to My Text Links - Easy to use Text Link and Deep Link generators are now available in the pop-up windows from the result of My Text Links
    • Program Links Page - We have changed the design so you can now grab text links and deep links from this page. We have also separated the product feed section.
Many of the above developments were created because of your feedback, so please keep them coming.!

You can view more information on these developments when you log in (under the News Section)

For now… Have a great weekend!

    Regards,

    Andy Andreou

I would agree to the comment made earlier by KirstyM, it takes a while getting used to the td backend, specially for a beginner its a lot of going back and forth and wrong clicks before you figure out how it works.

It would be nice to be able to sign up to a merchant just once under a personal account and not have to do it three or four times for three or four different websites.

Or just make it automatic when you apply for other sites once that merchant has accepted you. They can always dis-approve you if the new site is not appropriate.
