Does anyone have any experience with deep linking at category level with John Lewis?

I'm having trouble getting to grips with it and could use some advice. The category and area levels confuse me. I've tried to provide some examples, but I still end up getting confused as to what I'm supposed to look for.

TB state this:
Deeplink to Category Level

To deep link at category level, you will have to replace the following parameters in the following URL

John Lewis - Free standard delivery on all orders[AREA]&CAT=[Category]&sitename=TradeDoubler

The area needs to be added in where the [AREA] is The category needs to be added in where the [Category] is

E.g. to link to Televisions, Cameras, DVD Players and more - Technology at John Lewis

the deeplink would look like this:
http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?...e=TradeDoubler

What is the difference between area and category?

Has anyone got any successful links they've created and used?
