What percent commission are they at now?
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the posts:
PC World have decided to rejoin the TradeDoubler network inorder to deliver incremental sales revenue from its programme and to extend its reach amongst affiliates.
We are really pleased and excited to have PC World back on board and look forward to working with them once again.
They are offering 2.5% on all genuine sales with a 30 day cookie duration.
If you would like any further information on the programme, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I can't see how going back to TD is going to extend their reach - at best get a few affiliates back that didn't switch links to AW.
So who's going to get us something we can't get from the other first?
Not much point switching links otherwise is there?

Well what you do get from TD is the knowledge that if they do ever close again with them you can spend an afternoon making up spreadsheets of sales so that AW can pick up the pieces. Great![]()
Hi Al,
Given their track record with TD affiliates maybe you could ask them to make a stronger pitch?
What (exactly) do they mean by "incremental sales" and "genuine sales", and what will happen next time they decide their TD program is not meeting either of the above?
Will it be like last time?
If so, could you ask them why any half-way sane affiliate would even consider switching links from any other merchant, or from AW to TD, given the way AW cleaned up the last mess they left for TD affiliates.
Hi
PC World wishes to operate an affiliate programme with us again, so they can extend their reach among affiliates and drive additional sales. There will be complete programme parity between the networks; PC World wish to give you a choice.
PC World intend to run both programs side by side, and have no intention of closing either programme or forcing anyone to change their links. Since the programmes will be run side by side, there will be no issues with the payment of out of session sales should you opt to switch your links.
PC World have now resolved historical issues relating collect @ store orders and are now able to track these back to the original reservation ID. "Genuine" orders are either direct orders which are not cancelled, or collect @ store orders which are collected and paid for. I.e. PC World will pay you as long as the order is completed.

What complete & utter POPPYCOCK ! And also further admittance there were problems ! and another exclamation mark for luck !PC World have now resolved historical issues relating collect @ store orders and are now able to track these back to the original reservation ID. By the way PC World ... I still want my circa £15000 commission owed to me when the program was on Tradedoubler from Christmas Period 2005 !!! and another exclamation mark for luck ! Tradedoubler did jack s*** about it, and I make no apology for unplesantries in this post pertaining to this issue. Adam (at AW) tried harder than TD when it wasn't even AW's problem. Sorry, but a £500 palm off .. £1000 at a push .. from PC World wasn't suitable enough.
Where were TD on the Click & Collect issues, absolutely nowhere to be seen ... just the sound on tumbleweed in the wind or was it the ostrich head in the sand impersonation, I can never remember which one it is or was it probably both. Yet TD merrily yellow bellied bring them back into their warm Borg bosom. Are Tradedoubler “The Borg” in Disguise? » Affiliate Marketing Blog
In addition, what is the point on relaunching on TD, when AW have Shop Window .. doesn't make sense to me .. thus the question is ... Why?! If I am going to stick my neck out, then use AW and their ShopWindow feeds.
Come on Affiliates is not exactly rocket science when you weigh it up on the scales of justice.
AFFILIATE WINDOW Shop Window & Good Affiliate Support VERSUS Tradedoubler with No decent product feed solution & Poorer (no_reply@ext.tradedoubler.com email) support on issues.
Result ... No contest . . AW win hands down.
Wrath? .. Retribution? .. Yep .. I am oozing it.
PS If this post gets deleted it's because a someone may have inadvertantly gone PC (Politically Correct ), it will still end up on the blog anyhow with even wider coverage & would suggest some party has gone cry baby to that someone.

I think we need an a4u "Top Rant Award" in 2008, it's great to read posts like this to balance up the corporate PC crap we have to endure.

10 days later still no communication from PC World, except a call the following day from TD to my good lady unhappy about the post I made. I returned the call the day after or so, for which we will post on our blog later any brief transcripts and a copy of the post of this thread which will just get bumped to the top of the blog occasionally by adjusting the timestamp in what was a fairly non productive conversation. TD cc'd me on an email to PC World on the 15th who have yet made no effort to contact us. I will update on a biweekly or montly basis.

Pc world seem to be one to avoid , or am i getting the wrong end of the stick, is it the affiliate network at fault or the advertiser. I have just started looking at affiliate sales, and signed up to clickbank, and commission junction, should i be avoiding tradedoubler? and are affiliate window, a better proposition?
Hi Alby,
The issue stated above has since been addressed and dealt with accordingly.
With regards to which network to choose for PC World - i am on the understanding that both networks offer the same commissions. Having said that, i am more than willing to run you through our sign-up process or discuss any other issues if needed?
Please let me know if I can help in any way.
Thanks
