    Just got an email
    Dear Affiliates,

We are writing to give you an update about the cookie period length on the Figleaves programme.

Due to the fact that we are not de-duplicating the Figleaves affiliate programme against other
online marketing activities we have decided to shorten the cookie period from 30 days to 3 days.

We would like to emphasize the fact that this measure has been taken to reduce the impact of
unprofitable orders generated by the programme to date, and is one of several temporary measures
that are being taken as part of a major programme overhaul. We will be re-launching the programme in
due course with a structure that creates a more positive contribution to the Figleaves business.

If you have further questions then please contact us.

    Kind Regards,

    The Figleaves Affiliate Team

Unprofitable orders? Perhaps from the 20% vouchers their agency appear to have released into the wild.

Cookie reduction? Well combined with a commission drop then it's a pretty big slap in the face,

I know! I was shocked to get that email.

3 days?! Just because they've screwed up their maths and apparently got their employees promoting voucher codes they then can't afford to offer?

Are the people managing the campaign just making mistakes, or are they trying to make us ditch them? Do they think they don't need their programme anymore because they're an established brand (aka ASOS)?

Also - silly question perhaps - but what does:
"Due to the fact that we are not de-duplicating" mean?
I thought they were categorising between voucher codes (2%) and normal (6%)?

Emails on a Friday eve too - nice. Maybe that's when they get approved by TD, but still - good way to avoid replies for a few days.

I think they're at least doing something correct though - they're ruining their affiliate programme correctly.

    Well done Figleaves! :sneaky

Be glad there's only one Friday left before Christmas because at this rate in a couple of week's time they'll be asking affiliates to send them money for every sale they refer.

Shocking, just shocking. I'll all for making sure an affiliate program works the correct way for a business, but this is just ridiculous.

Its frightening how a very strong program can do downhill in such a short period of time

In some respects, this isn't a surprise. They've never processed returns etc, so I was expecting them to do something to take account of this.

However, what they seem to be doing is now ASOS-esque. They seem to think the affiliate channel is just an unnecessary expense.

I have sent them £430,000 in sales this year, and I know I'm not their biggest affiliate. Clearly the Fig must be doing awesomely well if they can afford to chuck away a million or three generated on a pay per performance basis!
