We are pleased to announce the latest and greatest affiliate incentive from Netflights. This MEGA incentive is brought to you by Netflights in conjunction with the Dubai Tourist Board making this the BIGGEST affiliate incentive ever, with the prizes totalling over £6,000.

The incentive is all geared around Dubai and flights to Dubai and aims to reward all affiliates including content affiliates, top performers and any affiliate, existing or new, who generates a flight sale to Dubai.

The incentive will be running for 6 weeks, starting from Friday 26th June to 7th August 2009 and there will be £100 bonus for content affiliates, 5* prizes for the top 3 performers and also 2 prize draw winners. And here is what you can win………

Dubai Content bonus

We will be paying a £100 bonus, (that’s right £100!) to the first 15 affiliates to add a content travel piece to their site about Dubai and send us the url. We will record every url that gets sent through in order and if you generate 50 clicks in the 6 week period you will be rewarded with the £100 bonus.

Rules
• The first 15 affiliates who submit their page and then generate the min clicks in the period will receive the £100 bonus
• Urls with Dubai content on must be submitted to affiliates@brilliantmedia.co.uk
• Copy must be at least minimum 100 words

The winner can choose the time of year they would like to fly out (although there are few date restrictions, see t’s&c’s below) and will enjoy the 5* treatment a trip to Dubai offers.

Thanks for the positive comments; we hoped to engage as many affiliates as possible with this incentive as well as providing the volume that was required.

We have had a few responses for the content bonus already but we have not reached the 15 level yet so there is still time to get your entries in, email them to affiliates@brilliantmedia.co.uk

Also as the incentive for the top performers is destination specific it opens up these prizes to a lot more affiliates as the current top guys may only do 4 or 5 flights to Dubai but sell a lot to Bangkok, it really is anyone’s incentive this!

We are pleased to announce that the winners of the netflights £6k incentive have been announced and the 2 prize draw winners have been drawn. All affiliates who qualified have been notified via email and you can see the prize draw here YouTube - Netflights Dubai Prize Draw

As the incentive was focused around Dubai flights the top 3 affiliates didn’t need to generate a huge amount of flight sales to Dubai to win, in fact one of the top 3 winners was an affiliate who set up a specific page with Dubai content and focused on Dubai flights, just going to show that the incentive was not just for the regular top performers and even new affiliates had the opportunity to win.

The prize draw for 2 flights to Dubai excluded the top 3 performers as they had already won some fantastic prizes. This meant there was not a huge amount of affiliates who qualified for the prize draw increasing the chances for those who delivered flight sales to Dubai. Again this just goes to show that the netflights incentives are accessible to all.

Yeah we were pretty surprised with the response particularly as we didn't even get the full 15 entries for the content bonus, despite our best efforts in pushing it.

It would be good to get some feedback from affiliates with regards the destination or if they just didn't feel they could win or if they were just not interested.

We are keen to carry on running incentives for hard working affiliates so any feedback to make the next one more successful would be welcomed.

Another related question - do you think the results would have been different had the program been on a major network rather than an arm of TD?

Maybe but the programme is on CJ and was promoted through CJ to their affiliate base as well.

Yeah, Brilliant Affiliates would be essentially a new network if you signed up so you would have to hit the payment threshold but that is only £30 and you would only have needed to make about 3 or 4 sales on netflights to get the £30.

I was hoping that by highlighting there was not many entries and that it was easier to win than affiliates maybe thought the next incentive might be better received.

It would be interesting to hear from other merchants who have ran an incentive and had limited response (if they are willing to admit that) and also as per a previous thread how best to announce and make affiliates aware of the incentive How best to announce affiliate incentives?

Personally, I would say that a flexible prize may be better. Sunshine let winners choose where in the world they went - then paid for flights and hotel to that destination for dates the affiliates chose.

Dubai was quite niche and it's not a prize I think I would chase after. It's not somewhere I have considered going to before. If the prize had been on the other side of the world (USA) I probably would have signed up and added the links to my site. That said, the prize was partially-donated by the Dubai tourist board (I think) which explains that one!

I think the prize of a holiday (flights and hotel) is a good one - though I wouldn't want to have travelled all that way to Dubai for just 3 nights (I would have said at least a week). Flights-only and Hotel-only prizes are not so great IMO. I wouldn't chase after one of the the latter prizes though I would chase after the first if it was attractive enough.

e.g. Air New Zealand are currently running a flights-only incentive but the twist is that it is in premium economy. That's more of an incentive than cattle class seats but without a hotel, it's not a complete incentive.

Personally, I would suggest that the way to get more people entering your competitions would be to offer a flexible holiday as a prize. If it were me, I would remove 2nd and 3rd place replacing that with another holiday. I reckon the two complete holidays would cost less than the £6K prizes offered here. I would have also probably opted for a lower class of hotel (3*,4*) in favour of a longer break of a week. Perhaps the first prize could be in a higher grade hotel and/or in better seats on the flight. I've yet to see a prize of a week's holiday in a 5* hotel with first class flights!
