We added these to 1 page of the site, and as a tester, booked 2 seats to London for the WTF.

Noticed it never tracked and eventually got this from Tradedoubler. No point in running them all over the site now.

    Hello Ian

Sorry to hear you are having issues with the tracking for Train Line. On investigation I have checked your banner on the home page and I tested the clicks which is being tracked by the TD tracking server. I checked that your transction below for some reason may have appeared in my error reporting but it hasn't. I see that the order is well over £25.00 so that is not the issue. Your program settings are all correct.

The program tracks using double click (3rd party tracking) and because of this there can be issues with their one cookie being blocked as they are running the tracking. So for example you may have antivirus software blocking the cookie or your browser settings are set to too high on the cookie blocking?

    Sorry for the long reply!

How many clicks is the banner recording currently?

    Many thanks

I've had over 1,300 clicks to Train Line.

    1 sale - £0.62 commission.

I asked Tradedoubler about it and got no reply.

I keep them on the site for Google purposes on that one page.

    Regards.

Tradedoubler took almost 2 weeks to reply to our question as well.

Regarding keeping The Train Line on that page for Google, no chance.

Don't see why anybody should send visitors to them and not get paid.

We've took them off already and doubt we'll run anything that's tracked by TD.

this doesn't surprise me. worked as a merchant on TD a year or two back and found the same - what actually happened was we ran in-house tracking concurrently from a system we'd built. we were a decent-sized set-up with a robust tracking system of our own.

bottom line is TD tracking and ours differed greatly - by over 25% - which was good as it meant we were coining it in, some decent revenues, but equally very bad, as affiliate sales were clearly not being tracked accurately by TD. suffice to say we quickly binned them off rather than risk the wrath and ensuing loss of credibility from affiliates.

i definitely wouldn't work with them again from that experience :td

doubleclick is routinely blocked by loads of programmes as it should be. No idea why anyone insists on using it

Trainline program is a very poor indeed. Combine the tracking problems raised here with TD's poor communication and you have a recipe for frustrated affiliates. We are switching our page for the trainline to CPC for now.

    Time to wake up chaps.

I had a tonne of clicks to tradedoubler via the train line and a lot of confirmed conversions by people saying ' we used your site to buy our tickets' and not one conversion via tradedoubler... emails went weeks without reply.. the staff didn't seem bothered..

Moved everything over to RailEasy with Buy.at and things have been a lot better..

No point promoting the Train Line in our experience. Promoting pizzas will make you more money

RailEasy + The train line are just as useless as each other,

The train line doesn't track (haha get it?) I've several instances where people have booked train tickets through my sites (I've sat there and watched them and the train line hasn't given me anything for it, apparently its my problem)

The rail easy program is bloody difficult to get hold of the people running it, the creative has a none trackable link (that I sent them and buy.at months ago to fix( and the website itself is terrible to navigate.

I believe the Co-op is working on a train program at the moment, so thats our only hope!
