Interesting but I'm not convinced they really are from thomas cook - the sites I've seen don't appear to link to Thomas Cook at all but do seem to link off to miscellaneous affiliate and adsense websites.
Also if you check archive.org on some of them they even didn't link back in 1997 so Idoubt its a case of the links being removed before sale.

It doesn't say they are being sold by Thomas Cook, just that they were being used for 'SEO campaigns' for them. I assume they're trying to bump the price based as some mugs will think they are getting a big brand seo campaign rather than a collection of websites. The Olympics people will be after them at some point as they have registered Olympics related domain names.

This eBay sale has nothing to do with Thomas Cook and this thread should be re-titled or removed to be honest. Thomas Cook does have its problems as we all know from reading the travel press or watching the news, however people claiming that Thomas Cook are selling assets via eBay is rather ridiculous.
