Unlike other merchants Xcape do not pay their affiliates until after the customer has checked out of the accommodation. So a booking made in March for a August holiday would not be paid until September.

So far conversions rates have been quite low compared to other travel merchants we deal with.

Just reminded me - need to get a custom CSV file off them as we were going to use them, but other things got in the way.

So can't yet say what they are like for payouts etc., but their affiliate team seem pretty competent and they seemed to be able to customise stuff to your requirements, so they never gave me any cause for concern.

As for payouts being after checkout, I guess that also means they only charge the customer when they checkout which seems a more popular way of doing things with the Brits. At least that's what the guy from Bookings.com said and it's the way Active Hotels and Superbreak both do it. Afterall, do you really want to pay for a hotel 6 months before you stay?

    Guys,

Sorry not to have responded to this thread sooner but we have so much going on here.

Just to respond to a few of the comments made:-

Previously we have paid commissions on 'fulfilment' of bookings, this is now being changed so that commissions will be paid on confirmation, i.e. when the booking is made. Commissions already paid on bookings that are subsequently cancelled will not be clawed back in any way.

Our Partner Console is looking a bit dated now, so we are currently working on a total overhaul. This will provide much better reporting than is currently available and will provide more help with the integration of our product into affiliates sites.

We are finalising the integration of approx. 20,000 new accommodations into our system which will all be on immediate confirmation. This should show an immediate improvement in conversion rates (more choice, better pricing, fewer alternatives), although our current conversion rate across the board is just shy of 12% (quotes to bookings) so we believe we are very competitive in this area already.

Finally for now, after jetting around and speaking to many networks we have been very impressed with AF and, as mentioned by our pistolier friend, we will soon be launching a program with them.

    Cheers

    Wayne

While the Xcape team is efficient and friendly enough the reporting console has had problems for months. I wondered if anyone else was discussing this problem so searched for Xcape here and found this thread. Seemed appropriate to raise it from the dead as Xcapeartist mentioned improvements to the console back in August last year. So... any updates, XA

XcapeWithUs have now launched on AF, although personally from past experience of them I would touch them with a barge pole as they have very poor conversion rates and they simply won't pay their affiliates.

That's pretty much our experience of them too. Won't pay, won't answer emails and won't return phone calls. AF have really taken on a "star merchant" here. I hope that they've taken a big pre-payment from them. Our advice to affiliates is avoid at all costs.

The partner console at Xcapewithus (on house program) is simply broken, and it has been for months. The "we are currently working on..." seems a joke at this stage. They simply do not care about it.

I've been paid by them, but we already discussed this in another thread and not everyone seems to be as lucky as me.

Also, they never have never taken any care of taking out phone numbers from the site until they joined AF. In-house affiliates do not have this option, but may be they should take some profit and add the parameter. Much better: if you still promote Xcape, go with AF (at least you will get paid).

Previously we have paid commissions on 'fulfilment' of bookings, this is now being changed so that commissions will be paid on confirmation, i.e. when the booking is made. Commissions already paid on bookings that are subsequently cancelled will not be clawed back in any way.
Will this also apply to your normal program or do we need to move to AF?

Actually, Superbreak pay their affiliates on BOOKING DATE. So you get paid your commisison the month following a booking, not the month after the client satayed. Much more beneficial to the affiliate. And why...because the client pays for thier holiday immediatly they book. So whilst Active dont take much if any money at time of booking, Superbreak take the whole payment. This also means there are alot less cancellations, and where people are travelling within 2 weeks on over 40% of bookings, it makes sense. Afterall, when you buy an airline ticket, do you pay for it there and then or as you walk up the stairs!!!

I was in Tenerife last month and contacted them to book me into another hotel for 4 days.

I talked to some stupid girl on the phone who had little interest in making the booking, but said she'd phone back an accommodation to book.

I got a text 5 mins later saying got nothings available. What.? In the whole of Tenerife.?

Is it any wonder they went bust with customer service like that.?

Needless to say I booked with On the Beach.

    Xcape = lost sale

    Unfortunate...

We regret to inform you that XcapeWithUs Ltd has ceased trading as of the 30th April 2009.

Due to the current economic climate XcapeWithUs has been unable to continue trading. The downturn in the travel industry alongside the declining value of the £GBP has sadly made it impossible for us to carry on.

We would like to thank all of our customers for their support and wish to assist you where possible.

Subject to the advice set out below you should make alternative arrangements for your accommodation.

    WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Please contact your accommodation provider directly to check that your booking will still be honoured by sending an email to customersupport@xcapewithus.com

PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD or VISA DEBIT:
If the provider confirms that the booking will not be honoured, and your booking was made with a Mastercard or Visa credit card or a Visa Debit card, you will need to contact your card issuer for a refund. Please note that your card issuer will require proof that the booking will not be honoured.

PAYMENT BY DEBIT CARD or BANK TRANSFER:
If you have paid by Maestro, Switch, Solo or bank transfer we suggest that you check your travel insurance policy to see if you can make a claim.

If you are unable to reclaim your money through your travel insurance then please send an email to claims@xcapewithus.com (with the subject line: 'Xcape With Us Claim'), please include your reference number. There is little likelihood of there being sufficient funds to enable these claims to be met.
