Help with IAN Travel ian.com - how to change colors/look and feel?
Hi All,
I recently signed up to IAN affiliate program. I have looked all over their website, but can't find out how to change the colors/look and feel. I don't really want to get into the XML/Webservices coding because it looks really complex to me.
I can see they have a page where you can specify header, footer, etc, but I was hoping they had a page where I can select general color themes. I actually just want to format the hotel property pages, to make the colors match my website.
I emailed IAN over a week ago, but haven't got a response yet.
Also, just to be clear on the commission I can expect... my understanding is generally I will receive 5% of the total hotel price purchased (IAN gets 10% and then I get half of that). Is that right?
Appreciate any advice.

LOL. I am the same here. It looks like they've gone into great detail to explain how to do this and that, supply databases, allow content and images, props by location, individual properties, etc. Brilliant, except I don't understand a word of it. I have also written asking for some help (as it says you should) but received no response as yet.

They're not the easiest for advice because the emails go to the wrong department. Contact Travelnow directly and they may be able to assist. Their framed layout is difficult at the best of times. Flight commissions are appalling ($5 regardless of number of tickets) but the facility is live, hotels are better but their database has to be edited each time as it has header lines all over the place, the date is the wrong format and some of the hotels are listed in the wrong country. Cruises are a problem, even if you are signed up to those and car hire is also a bind but at least functions.

Oh, bummer. That sounds like exactly what I don't want then. I need a destination-specific, content generating, deep linking, travel programme that offers low prices to buyers, great commission to its affiliates, has good tracking and a person to contact when I get myself in a jam. I guess this might be unrealistic, eh?

It is a bit. I'm currently looking around for a supplier whereby I can offer an integrated own label platform for flights a la ian.com based on weighting (so the price constantly alters) plus a hotels database that doesn't need constant labour intensive adjustment.
I am happy enough with the hotels commissions I get but I want a better flights commissions. The other problem is that because ian.com is a US based supplier they are forbidden from offering flights to Cuba. A popular destination with Europeans.I got nominated for Community Choice: Affiliate Manager, In-House or at an Agency
