    Hi,

Any CPC programs available in Travel Vertical. We came across a lot many CPA programs and wondering if We can get some CPC programs. We are in the process of creating a shopping comparison community & for the Travel vertical we are looking for some CPC based Feeds of Merchants. Can somebody help please?

    Regards

    Hi,

Stephen's launching shoe string travel which I believe has a CPC element to it

Kayak have just gone live on linkshare, but im guessing if your going for a comparison model they will be a competator not suited for promotion

To be honest unless you have traffic already you'll struggle to get big players to go down the CPC route. And to then get big merchants to commit to CPC you'll have to be able to guarentee traffic levels.

A lot of sites that use our API have told me they build the site on CPA basis to get all the functionality etc working and get the merchants on board. Then once the merchants seen traffic levels and quality of traffic you can talk about changing payment models.

And of the sites I know who have done this, all are still sticking to a CPA basis

We track our comparator stuff on cpa deals back to cpc.......many times you find that the cpa deal can work out better....some it doesn't we kill those ones.

The simple reason we see when talking to suppliers is because cpa is raised against the internal sales channel and hence goes against the profit/loss account and is paid retrospectively. Marketing controls the cpc budget and ehnce has to be signed off in advance...so it just becomes too hard for all concerned.

Mind you if a cpa deal does not hit our cpc targets we do talk to the merchant or kill it.
