    Hi,
I'm new here, so first of all - hello everyone.

I'm seeking advice. I have a client who runs a luxury 5 star hotel in UK. Can anyone offer suggestions on where I should start my research for affiliates.

This is tricky because the hotel can not be seen to be on discount hotel sites, as its an exclusive hotel. They have a beautiful health spa, so I am targeting the spa market too.

Also I am thinking of other verticals, such as wedding, events and business conferences.

I guess this is quite a general post but I just wanted to introduce myself and seek the opinion of this wonderful forum

    Hope you can help.

    Steve

    Hi Amplify,

Welcome to the Affiliates 4 U forum,

I've just written a small article about a luxury Spa Holiday break for my Buttercup Holidays site.

The Girls go on a luxury Spa Break

IF that type of article is suitable for you??? or the Buttercup site is suitable for your hotel - give us a shout.

You can become a marchant and put in the t&c;s 'no incentive sites or cashback sites' that will do the job.
And if you do see sales coming in from discount sites, then just knock them off your campaign

Are you after individual relationships with specific sites, or just trying to be a bit careful where you advertise and as mentioned keeping away from the cashback and similar...?

Thing is, if they're after affiliates then I'm guessing they really want volume and probably aren't running on a name like Gleneagles or Dorchester where simply the name sells the product and people will book regardless.

Firstly they need to work out what kindof arrangements they want, ie: ones that will sell in small numbers but keep an exclusive clientel, or simply be a business and go for volume.

Once they've worked that out then they can figure if they want to appear on sites like Superbreak, Laterooms and Alpharooms where they can reach a very wide audience, or perhaps have more control by using Affiliate Window or similar where they can select who they allow into the scheme. Or they could run very exclusive contracts, but that always has tracking problems.

Personally I'd simply get listed on as many of these hotel sites as possible. I doubt it'll damage the brand whatever the marketting people fret about as most people are simply after a hotel within a certain price bracket and maybe within a star rating, and they know if it's 5 star then it should be good. Regardless of where they saw it. And the small % of people who worry about the fact that Joe Public might be there, will probably book the Gleneagles anyway.

    With regards Pegasus etc.:

    - Pegasus are a hotel distribution system who tend to collect lots of hotels for distribution around travel agents, Expedia type sites and the Superbreak, Travelnow, Laterooms types. Not sure if any of those actually use Pegasus, but those are the kinds of large sites that they deal with. Saves the site having to get their own arrangements with hotels.

    - Tradedoubler, CJ etc. provide the affiliate middleman whereby they link the big and little site owners to the merchants and take care of tracking, payments etc. They cover a huge market area.

    - Superbreak, Travelnow etc. are kindof similar to Tradedoubler companies, but they're more in the hotel niche. They provide the content out on their own site and other peoples sites and take a % of the booking fee, and pass a % to the site where the booking originated. Some will use Pegasus and similar, some do it independently.
