  Last Minute Affiliate Programmes

Hi Everyone

Great forum clearly inhabited by very knowledgable people so hoping I can tap into your collective brain power.

I'm about to embark on a travel project and am keen to understand how flexible the various affiliate programmes are. My travel portal will focus on (1) The top 30 destinations from the UK (2) late late deals departing in the next 7 days.

I've taken a look at the affiliate programmes offered by the major players (Thomson, Thomas Cook, Expedia, Ebookers, Opodo) and have been a little underwhelmed. None of them appear to offer what I'm looking for so the big question is, are any of these guys open to negotiation on the how they integrate links into affiliate sites? I.e. would they be prepared to create some customised links/feeds?

Here's what I'm trying to achieve:

There'll be a single page dedicated to each of the top 30 tourist destinations around the world with various information on places to go, stay, eat etc. Central to each page will be a "Last Minute Deals" button. Upon clicking the button you get a list of the best deals to that destination departing in the next 7 days. None of the current crop of affiliate programmes appear to offer data down to that level of data. Can anyone recommend a player who'd be prepared to put together some customised links and destination pages?

Thanks in anticipation

James

Hi James,

Have a look at www.Henoo.com, we collect the data from the main tour operators - My Travel, Thomas Cook, Virgin Holidays, Cosmos....

I'm sure we can work a way to integrate the data into your site. Henoo pays better commission than you would normally get as an affiliate and your visitors still book direct so cutting out the travel agent.

May i ask, how you managed to collect the data from these tour operators/travel agencies?
I'm in the same situation as Jetset_Jimmy.

We're provided the data directly from most of the operators.

Thanks Peter - looks interesting. Some questions for you:

1. How are you able to pay such a good rate of commission? Presumably your are affiliated to all of these companies yourselves so you earn commission as an affiliate. Are you earning such an amazing rate of commission that you are then able to split it with a sub affiliate, pay them more than they would have earned direct and still make a decent whack yourself? I'm intrigued!

2. Do you think you would be able to customise the feed as I described i.e. click on a destination and you get a list of all flights/holidays departing for that destination in the next 7 days?

3. I see that some providers of data feeds insist on a chunky joining fee or "data integration" fee up front. Do you charge anything up front or are you happy to partner with companies on a purely revenue-sharing basis?

Regards

James

  Re: Last Minute Affiliate Programmes

Hi James,

We are an affiliate network and have them all as clients so we make our money on the surcharge of the commissions. Henoo is just treated as a large affiliate, however we don't want to give out the commission rates that larger affiliates are on, so we don't announce the Henoo rates.

You can change the search queries in the url to pull any period of time, i've pulled the 7 days after 21st March for London to Barbados packages. No reason why you could use todays date.

http://www.henoo.com/results.aspx?l0...exibility=7&hh

We will do provide the raw data out to some affiliates, and will be opening this to all affiliates soon.

We don't charge any fees, the Henoo programme is available here http://affiliates.affiliatefuture.co...e.aspx?id=4624 We have a whitelabel available of Henoo as well available in the product tools section of AffiliateFuture.

Shout if you need any help.
