  Travelodge

Hi there,

I'm really pleased to say we've kicked off an affiliate campaign with one of the UK's leading hotel chains, Travelodge.

This is the very first time Travelodge have embarked on any affiliate activity so represents an ideal opportunity for us all to demonstrate the value of the channel.

Initially the campaign is running with a budgetary cap in place - a fairly significant cap, but a cap nonetheless. We can offer a commission of £3.50-£3.80 on every booking

Therefore I'm not opening the campaign out to everyone but I'm looking for some great content sites to showcase Travelodge. I'm working with two PPC affiliates at the moment who are already delivering excellent volumes.

I will of course be updating frequently on delivery so you're fully in the loop on volumes left to deliver.

So what can you do? Well I'm keeping this campaign hidden due to the budget constraints but am keen to hear from anyone interested in pushing Travelodge.

If you'd like to email me or give me a call with details then please do outlining how you intend to promote Travelodge. Please note if I can't add you immediately then please don't take it personally - I'm having to keep a tight rein on this one with a view to hopefully opening up more activity in the future.

So why would you want to promote Travelodge? A few facts for you...

Currently c.2.5m unique visitors to the site a month with an average booking of £55.

Web conversions (click to sale) fluctuate but average out at around 9% and 80%+ of Travelodge's bookings are online. Travelodge are trying to push as much business onto the web so actually make it positively difficult for anyone to drop offline during the booking process.

There are some great on site offers and we're able to turn around sales on £15, £26, £39 and £49 rooms daily as these are non-refundable.

Travelodge is UK’s fastest growing and most recognised budget hotel company: Travelodge has 312 hotels within the UK, Ireland and Spain (20,000 rooms in total). Over 6 million people stay with Travelodge every year.

Growth: Travelodge has a target of 32,000 rooms (150 new hotels) by 2010 – this means opening a new hotel every eight working days. This will be achieved via organic growth including new build properties and regenerating existing buildings. By the 2012 Olympics, Travelodge aims to be the biggest hotel brand in Central London (within the North and South Circular), with a target of 7,000 rooms in the Capital.

Travelodge has 30 hotel openings planned in 2007, which equates to one new hotel opening every nine days. Locations include: Heathrow Terminal 4 & 5, Luton, Swindon, Glastonbury, London Euston, London City Road, Eastbourne, Holyhead, Blackpool, Redditch and Windsor

Low pricing strategy: Travelodge is a consumer champion brand, focused on driving prices low across the hotel industry. The budget chain’s low prices are delivered by commitment to operational efficiency and a low cost business model. Travelodge will sell around two million rooms at £26 or less each year.

Product: To ensure all our customers get a good night’s sleep, each room has a Hypnos luxury king-size bed with en-suite bathroom, colour TV, pay on demand movies, telephone, Internet service and free tea and coffee making facilities.

There's no product feed but we do have an exhaustive spreadsheet with all locations, deeplinks and other information that can be supplied on request.

I look forward to hearing from you!

I'm sure some of us remember Premier Travel Inn running on similar commercials, was a fantastic if short-lived program. (also, oddly, managed by you mate)
Best of luck with it, unfortunately we haven't got anywhere to put it at the moment otherwise I'd be phoning you every half hour!

Hi there,

I've had a good response to my initial post but thought I'd bump this thread again just in case anyone missed it in the DSGi flurry of activity.

The campaign is performing exceptionally well but I'd still like to add some more great content sites to the programme.

Current stats
12.7% click to sale conversion (all activity - but mostly generic/non-brand PPC)
£0.51p EPC

If you'd like to find out more please drop me an email and we'll take it from there.

  Re: Travelodge

I love travelodge, basic but decent hotels with cheap prices, but unfortunately I probably can't send them the kind of traffic you're looking for at the moment.
If it opens up to everyonw I'll certainly join and add their ads to some of my sites.
