Great looking site - merges really well with the merchant, you should get some good conversions from that.

I had to laugh when I saw the 'spot the difference' sunshine banner!

Re: Plan Your Fam Trip with sunshine.co.uk

I've picked Hurghada, Egypt's second largest beach resort after Sharm, and picked up hurghada-resort.com (far from started) which will be my training ground as a travel affiliate. Thanks to Chris for the advice so far

Hurghada is a great winter sun destination with temperatures around 23 degrees, warm waters for diving and is still quite cheap, especially if you are prepared to leave the confines of your hotel and explore a little.

Depart London Gatwick to Hurghada 26th Dec 11.15
Just enough time to get over the Xmas hangover pour myself into a taxi to Gatwick for some much needed winter sun

Sofitel Hurghada Hotel 4 star All inclusive Dec 26th & 27th
A beach-front resort hotel in the Arabic style, facing the Red Sea, close to the beach and diving facilities, plus has it's own reef for exploring by snorkel.
A great place to kick off the holiday and unwind.

Triton Empire Beach 3 star Dec 28th & 29th
This hotel is designed very much for the beach and time to get stuck into some more serious water sports after a few days to unwind
The Triton has yet more access to diving & snorkelling opportunities plus a spot of windsurfing or even kite-surfing if the winter wind picks up .
My biggest reason to pick Hurghada over Sharm though is that it is relatively easy to explore a bit of Egyptian culture in the Valley of Kings at Luxor in a long day trip from here as such it makes sense to pick a more basic hotel while we're out and about exploring

Hurghada Marriott Beach Resort 5 star B and B Dec 30th, 31st , Jan 1st
Last three days for a bit of R&R before returning to the UK, and a nice spot to celebrate New Year's Eve. The Marriott receives consistently high reviews for its quality of service and looks like a great place to spend the final days of the holiday before heading back to Blighty.

Return 2nd Jan 19.25

Re: Plan Your Fam Trip with sunshine.co.uk

Fantastic prize, but gutted as I did my own 'fam trip' for a site that's already promoting Sunshine, just a few weeks ago.
I have to say Chris and the team at Sunshine are definately on the ball and helped give me some inspiration today.

New site is almost ready (will pm over the URL once it's done) and it's for Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. (Hope I've managed to get it my entry in on time. )

Flights:

Manchester - Sharm El Sheikh 18th Sep 1000 18th Sep 1725 First Choice Airways
Sharm El Sheikh - Manchester 25th Sep 1825 25th Sep 2215 First Choice Airways

Flight time isn't too bad and I'll be there just before teatime, giving me a bit of a chance to check out the airport/visas/transfers etc and then grab some food.

Hotels:

I figured start off low and work your way up, so have plumped for the following:

Tropicana Rosetta - 3 stars
Located in the centre of Naama Bay, it's a great starting point to explore the centre and the restaurants, bars and facilities. Give me chance to get bearings, before moving on.

Crowne Plaza Resort - 4 stars
Moving slightly away from Naama Bay, the bigger resorts and international chains are in abundance. It'll be good to see the on site facilities and check out the all-inclusive options and what's included and what's not.

Melia Sinai - 5 stars
Moving further again from the hustle and bustle of the town, it'll be good to see what facilities are on offer at this self contained resort. With it being close to the airport, it'll be interesting to see how noisy it is too.
Be good to also to finish off here and see the comparisions between the different ratings.

It's been great looking through the hotels and resorts and seeing what they all offer and where they are. I suppose everyone is a winner, as they've researched their content for their site probably more than they ever do.

Good luck everyone.

Re: Plan Your Fam Trip with sunshine.co.uk

Hi,

thanks to everyone who entered our latest sunshine.co.uk incentive, every fam trip was high quality and a fair bit of research done!

Our winner (I made a list of itineraries in a random order and Happy blindly picked a number) is...

Tuesday (tania) with her fam trip to Fuerteventura, which you can read here.

Again many thanks to all who took the time to get an entry in, I'm sure it'll have helped you get into the holiday site mood even if you didn't scoop the prize.

Cheers

Chris C
