I've picked Hurghada, Egypt's second largest beach resort after Sharm, and picked up
hurghada-resort.com (far from started) which will be my training ground as a travel affiliate. Thanks to Chris for the advice so far
Hurghada is a great winter sun destination with temperatures around 23 degrees, warm waters for diving and is still quite cheap, especially if you are prepared to leave the confines of your hotel and explore a little.
Depart London Gatwick to Hurghada 26th Dec 11.15
Just enough time to get over the Xmas hangover pour myself into a taxi to Gatwick for some much needed winter sun
Sofitel Hurghada Hotel 4 star All inclusive Dec 26th & 27th
A beach-front resort hotel in the Arabic style, facing the Red Sea, close to the beach and diving facilities, plus has it's own reef for exploring by snorkel.
A great place to kick off the holiday and unwind.
Triton Empire Beach 3 star Dec 28th & 29th
This hotel is designed very much for the beach and time to get stuck into some more serious water sports after a few days to unwind
The Triton has yet more access to diving & snorkelling opportunities plus a spot of windsurfing or even kite-surfing if the winter wind picks up .
My biggest reason to pick Hurghada over Sharm though is that it is relatively easy to explore a bit of Egyptian culture in the Valley of Kings at Luxor in a long day trip from here as such it makes sense to pick a more basic hotel while we're out and about exploring
Hurghada Marriott Beach Resort 5 star B and B Dec 30th, 31st , Jan 1st
Last three days for a bit of R&R before returning to the UK, and a nice spot to celebrate New Year's Eve. The Marriott receives consistently high reviews for its quality of service and looks like a great place to spend the final days of the holiday before heading back to Blighty.
Return 2nd Jan 19.25
