I am building a website focusing on a niche location and I am going to have information on every hotel in that area. As such, each page is going to need a picture or pictures of each hotel - How can I get these pictures? Can I take them off a merchants site, or is there a central database where I can buy the images etc.
You do need to be careful with using images for obvious copyright reasons - if you are promoting the hotels via an affiliate link, most merchants will allow you to use their images (if you are using their site to take the bookings), and many will even offer an image feed. Otherwise, I would suggest contacting the hotels directly. Alternatively, why not ask customers who have stayed in those hotels to take pictures to add to your site as part of a review section (a la Tripadvisor) - great way to get some UGC.
