    HI,

Currently using a Heart Internet reseller account - just installed Wordpress and was shocked to see in excess of 20MB of data transfer between server and my PC for very little activity.

In terms of bandwidth - would it be advisable to go for say their Business Professional package from day one - rather than risk infringing any fair use policy of Heart Internet and then having the hassle of moving to another host/server at a later date?

Where are others hosting their Wordpress sites?

    Thanks

    Simon

I wouldn't worry about it to be honest. None of our customer's Worldpress sites cause any problems for us, so I doubt yours will for Heart.

I can't speak for their upgrade policy, but surely you can update if the need arises at a later date? There's no point in paying for something you don't need

    Thanks for the reply.

I decided to go for the additional hosting anyway to keep it separate from the reseller account.

You could use a cache plugin to save bandwidth - WordPress › WP Super Cache WordPress Plugins or WordPress › Plugin Output Cache WordPress Plugins - they display a saved version of the site rather than db output. Can be quite handy, but also annoying if you are making a lot of changes to your site.

It definitely a good idea to keep your company website and support site on a separate server from your customer's. Just make sure that is the case as reseller accounts and standard accounts can quite happily share the same server.

For extra redundancy you might want to consider using different DNS for your site; we use eNom's.

    HOT TIP

For any newbie looking for a niche, why not create a site dedicated to promoting web hosting suitable for blog sites like Wordpress? Ones that have certain products as standard, like myphp, sql etc. Search volumes p/m in the thousands!
