Hi,
I have a few sites running on my Heart Internet reseller account WP 2.7.1.
Recently I have been having issues with 403's being shown as the servers have stopped scripts running on my various sites at different times.
I am at a loss as to what it causing this.
Any ideas?

Thanks guys,
I have discussed this with them at length as it is getting really frustrating!
They keep coming back to plugins and saying it is probably one of the plugins - here is a list of the plugins common to all 3 sites: -
akismet
canonical urls
contact form 7
Google XML sitemaps
Really simple captcha
Robots Meta
Sociable
Wordpress database backup
I have now disabled XML sitemaps and database backup to see if that makes a difference.
They also said there might a problem with some coding.
As a complete novice when it comes to anything to do with this sort of thing is there anything else it could be - they indicated that their system "knocks out" the sites due to permanent scripts running - usually for in excess of 1 minute - which trips their system/alarm.

Your host should be able to tell you what part of their system is being 'tripped' and by which file or process. If it is the memory limit then it is likely to be your database backup script, but turning all your plugins off to test this theory is your best option. You can then turn them back on one by one to test each plugin. However, you may get a cumulative effect here so be careful.
Now that that's been said have you or your host checked the file/folder permissions as mentioned previously? I still think it's an imposed restriction but you have to check the obvious initiatlly.

Thanks daveh,
I am afraid not - my knowledge of this area is limited.
I have asked them on several occassions what is causing the issue and all they can tell me is the following - they say they cannot identify what is causing the issue and just keep referring back to plugins or coding.
Daemon: 4576 mysite.com "php5-cli" (/usr/bin/php5-cli) (120 s)
(/usr/bin/php5-cli wp-cron.php )
Scripting disabled.
Not many evil-looking GETs; falling back to POSTs
mysite.com 92.235.148.90 - - [22/Apr/2009:17:51:01 +0100] "POST /wp-login.php HTTP/1.1" 302 - "http://www.mysite.com/wp-login.php" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; GTB6; InfoPath.2)"
mysite.com 66.135.48.196 - - [22/Apr/2009:17:51:19 +0100] "POST /xmlrpc.php HTTP/1.0" 200 1561 "-" "The Incutio XML-RPC PHP Library"
Daemon: 19694 mysite.com "php5-cli" (/usr/bin/php5-cli) (63 s)
(/usr/bin/php5-cli wp-cron.php
I feel a transfer to meirhosting coming!

I've had the same issue with Heart only once and they were quite helpful.
What were you doing at the time it tripped? They do have quite sensitive trip filters so it may be that one of the plugins is causing the problem.
I've used quite a few of the plugins but not sure which one would be causing it off the top of my head tbh.

Looking for link swaps and article exchanges on sites relating to cycling, bikes, mountain bikes, cycling equipment etc. Drop me a PM.
Your wordpress cron file run has gone beyond your hosts process runtime limit.
(63 s)
(/usr/bin/php5-cli wp-cron.php
Also, with your 120seconds run.
If your host has a 60 second limit on process runtimes then that process will be killed. It seems like your host is also suspending further php processes probably on a temporary basis, but this will prevent your wordpress installing from functioning until the block is lifted.
Given that this host offers unlimited everything, I would imagine that their 60second process limit is non-negotiable but it might be worth asking if they will increase it.

Mike - the system trips from time to time when publishing a new post or updating an existing post
Daveh - thanks for that - I'll go back to them on that basis. What would be a good suggested trip limit?

Try and get what you can.
Chances are that your processes are being slowed along with many others. What should only take a few seconds may take minutes if the server has to handle hundreds of processes.
