eUKhost - What are they like now a days?

Hi.

I'm looking for some reasonably priced VPS system and seen that eUKhost appears to fit the bill.

Done a little bit of research and seen nothing but praise for them around 2008, but they appeared to take a bit of a nose dive in 2009.

Can anyone comment on their current level of service? I'm hoping that their very competitive pricing structure isn't indicative of reliability issues.

I used to have a vps with EUKHost but moved from them last August after numerous problems and, well, not the best support. I went to Vidahost. First of all after looking at my setup they advised me to go for a reseller account, rather than a VPS. I have to say that their support is fantastic and they go out of their way to help you, even if it has nothing to do with their servers! I would thoroughly recommend Vidahost.

I have to say that I don't know how eukhost are these days, but in my experience once a company starts going downhill, they very rarely make the climb back up.

Thanks for the feed back.

I already have a reseller account at Clook which gives me no problems at all. They offer a VPS but they're also about 3 times more expensive than eUKhost, and since I'm doing some development for an old friend who's starting up in business, I'm really looking to keep costs down. Suppose at the end of the day you get what you payy for.

Because of the way they want their system a VPS is the only way. So I might need to do some more research.

Suppose it’s only right to reply with my experience.

I weighed up everyone’s comments and in the end I decided to try eUKhosts for the development period of the site and then re-evaluate before going live.

The project has involved setting up a single Magento install with multiple shop fronts spanning different domains and hosting accounts on a VPS. Right now I cannot fault eUKHost, the account was set up without any hassle and all support calls have been resolved very quickly and efficiently.

From my experience so far, I can’t see any reason why we won’t continue to use this host for the foreseeable future.
