Still undecided on the hosting yet but trying some out..

Found something in T&C at donhost
    Terms say:

3.2.3. you will not send bulk email whether opt-in or otherwise from our

network. Nor will you promote a site hosted on our network using bulk
    email.

So I asked if this meant mailing lists -

    Answer from them:
"We would unfortunately consider mailing lists as opt-in bulk mail."

So you can't have a mailing list on a donhosts hosted site. how rubbish.

Is this because you will be using their SMTP? What if you used MailThemPro which sends newsletters directly from your own PC using its built in SMTP server, therefore not touching your hosting or dial in comany?

    Just a thought

Still doesn't get past this ridiculous condition though -

Nor will you promote a site hosted on our network using bulk email.

I would not recommend MailThempro to anyone who has zero access to their smtp. You'll end up with a problem with AOL addresses, which will not send in 'direct delivery' mode, it has to be set to 'peronal copy', which uses an smtp chosen by you.

Makes sense. If you don't promote your site and get no visitors they can get loads more accounts on the server without having to up the bandwidth...

...or am I just way too cynical
