That sounds a bit supect to me. What did they say when you questioned them about it?
Just curious to know if anyone's ever managed to transfer a domain from Network Solutions to another registrar without having to jump through several unnecessary hoops?
For example I just tried doing this for a client and logged in fine, changed the email address so I get the messages and then requested an EPP key.
I received an email saying email address changed advisory which is good, and another giving the EPP key....but then a 3rd saying "we've detected suspicious activity and locked the domain". This combined with all the "please call customer services as we want to keep you rubbish all over the transfer pages" makes me very suspicious that it's a deliberate ploy to get the client to talk to them and try to AOL them into staying.
Unless I can find information to the contrary I'm seriously thinking about making a formal complaint to ICANN which no doubt won't do anything, but maybe if they get enough they'll kick the backsides of these "people".
