I am looking to move hosts right now, as I've had a number of problems with EUKhost. Can someone please recommend me a good host, I don't mind paying extra any more since I earn a lot more than what I did when I first started.

The main part of my advice alludes to the difficulty in moving sites. I must have at least 50 websites on my reseller account with EUKhost, and need to move them all.

Can anyone offer tips/advice on how to quickly, efficiently, and safely move these sites to my new host WITHOUT hindering my rankings, some which I have worked hard to get!

Any advise on this area would be greatly appreciated. I am particularly interested in hearing from people who have been in this position in the past and have had to migrate so many websites.

As long as your advice is good, and you are recommending a good host, I don't mind your affiliate link :-D

Thank you very much in advance

    Kammy

We host with Rackspace and can confirm they are indeed the mutts nutts!
They are far from the cheapest, but I would have to say they have provided an excellent service to us.
    Cheers

I've done this and it is a real pain - no point lying to you But, it had to be done because I had too many problems to put it off any longer. Do it slowly over a few weeks and one site at a time. There are various problems you'll encounter, particularly if you are moving wordpress sites, but it is worth it in the end.
Obviously the last few are a lot easier than the first because you develop an efficient way of doing it - so start with your less important sites first and visa versa.

In terms of rankings and traffic I saw no interuption whatsoever on any site - just leave your old sites on the old hosting for a week or so just in case. Overall it took me about a week but I'm glad I did it.

A tip with wordpress - don't try and swap everything over. Do a new install on your new host, upload your mysql backup and then just upload your wp-content folder.
Another oddity is the path to media files seems to always break and will need resetting to the default in the wordpress settings?

    Hope that helps?

Just to ad - go for dedicated or virtual dedicated hosting - shared hosting sucks and will always cost you dearly in the end.

Your rankings shouldn't be effected as long as there are no prolonged downtime periods and that shouldn't happen either.

If your current host uses cpanel then it's likely to be easy for your new host to transfer all your accounts for you.

I've been running hosting services for number of years now and would certainly offer my companies service to you. www.meirhostingdomains.com

Let me know if you have any questions.

Check out TSO Host. They are amazing. They will also help you move everything over from your former host in a speedy manner which will not hinder your rankings.

Let me know what you think and I may be able to get you a discount with them.

I'd recommend nethosted.co.uk they were very helpfulwith moving, a long time ago now but all we did was provide them with the cPanel backups of each reseller account and they had a script that restored them all in no time, we did around 100 accounts and they had set them up within an hour of giving them all the backups!

Should check with their support they can still do this, for me they were pretty much perfect!

Only just seen this so don't know if you have already found somebody.

I moved from EUKHost last year due to problems. Although many recommended Clook I thought them too expensive and in the end I went to Vidahost, on the recommendation of somebody else. They have been EXCELLENT! I cannot recommend them highly enough. Their support is out of this world. They have even helped and supported me with scripts that were nothing to do with their hosting - most would have simply said "that's nothing to do with us"!

I have had a number of hosts over the last few years, and can honestly say that vidahost have been the best - they bend over backwards to help you

    Thank you everyone

Really appreciate the responses. I'm still looking (so busy with other commitments) but hopefully will have decided before the end of the week. Getting help form the new host moving your accounts is a bonus, and it's good to know so many hosts offer it.

I'll update this when I have found someone. But thanks for all your suggestions, I am looking at everyone recommended here.
