This part of the forum needs saving

Its a real shame that this corner of the forum has just become somewhere for web hosting companies to post sales messages and attempt to poach customers. In its current form it is pretty much pointless to all but a couple of web hosts marketing themselves.

It should be a place where affiliates can discuss technical issues they have or ask for genuine unbiased recommendations for web hosts, but people have been crowded out by hosts pouncing on them to try and sell a server or two. This section should have a no sales message policy to allow real conversations to develop.

Completely agree - at the moment it's so underused and could be a valuable source for all.

Oddly, I'm sure it used to be quite well used - not as popular as some other bits, but all these technical areas were used for real purposes. I guess with the revamp of sections a while back when these were pushed somewhat out of the way, things went a bit sideways.

Still keep subscribed to it however just incase there's anything useful, like this thread.
