wheres the boxes located?
You could get hosting, for $13.50 = £7.00/m
you'd get everything from a dedicated server technically not a dedicated server but things included are unlimted databases, 30gb band width/m 2gb space only only linux, cpanel/whm emails ftp etc with a very good service ?
how much would this save you in costs ?
this comes without root access and no im not advertising my own hosting company haha im just curious on peoples views.

For £29 I have a reseller plan, which means I have 50, yes thats 50 hosting accounts. Each account can allow parked domains - not autoforward of domains, so google picks up all the different domain names. And..... and EACH one of the 50 accounts comes with;
500Mb
10Gb Bandwidth
200 POP3 mail accounts
5 mysql databases
PHP4
UK Based
5 mailing lists
5 ftp accounts
Auto-responders
Spam Filters
Webmail
Shopping cart
Secure Server
CGI blah blah blah...
24/7 support which is excellent as I am finding out right nowlol My server has died and they're are installing new hardware, but its good to still be able to contact them on the phone in the UK, on Easter Monday (nice to know its not just me that has to work over bank hols).

Guess it depends how many accounts you need. If I was after only 1, then the £7 option would be well worth it.
My goodness gracious me - how many PMs??? LOL
The company I use is Hostroute, and have a reseller plan. Obviously I dont sell any accounts to anyone, just use them all myself which is fine with them.
Anyway, here is the link for eveyone;

Although all my websites were down today for 2 hours, this is the first time I have had any problem in 6 months. The problem was hardware related and in 2 hours a new server was inplace and everything was back up and running, which in my books is pretty good.
Anyway, hope this is helpful to some of you.
Frostie, I've been out of this buying webspace lark for a few years, mainly because I'm part of a network these days, however are they at ease with me just taking up up the reseller five and not actually moving them on after a certain duration?
I have to say it's one of the better, no best deals I've come across ever, I had to to check the date of your post, it being April an'all. Six months seems a good verdict, I'm off to read the small print.
Cheers
Lee
Frostie, apologies but what do you mean by this ?Originally posted by Frostie

yup, hostroute are excellent. Just a shame they dont go higher than 10 gig per site. Also no phone support but email support is alomost instantaneous.

Sorry about delay - dont get to call in here as often as I should...
Yep, no problem as long as you keep paying the bills. When I joined with a 50 account, I only 3 sites that could go live immediately. Over the last 6 months, I have developed a further 15 so now am using 18 of my 50 allocation. They don't mind as I pay £29 per month no matter how much I use.at ease with me just taking up up the reseller five and not actually moving them
Maybe someone can clarify this as I am not 100% sure, but...Frostie, apologies but what do you mean by this ?
If you have an autoforward, say mysite.com that points to mynewsite.com, the autoforward for mysite.com is simply a framed page, that will load the mynewsite.com inside it. If you go to mysite.com and show the properties of an image, I think it will show as http://www.mynewsite.com/image.gif - the original domain name
With parked domains, it means that search engines actually think that mysite.com and mynewsite.com are different domains, different sites etc. If you right clicked on an image, it would show the domain name that you actually entered, and it doesnt act as a framed version of the original.
Clear as mud? lol - OK take one of mysites....
Go to http://www.sharetheprofits.com and right click on an image - the properties says it belongs to sharetheprofits.com, therefore it thinks this is a website all on its own
No go to http://www.sharetheprofits.co.uk and again click on an image. The properties shows that this image belongs to the co.uk version, but there is only 1 image on my server, only 1 index.html etc etc
Can someone else please clarify if this is correct, or explain it a little better?
er....i think you mean a parked domain is a domain which points to its own directory on your account so appears a full domain in its own right. Otherwise it would be a domain that has its ip pointed at your main account and would resolve to the same ip/directory. A forward can be done several ways. The spammy way would be the frame but really it should be done at dns level.

Hostroute do not allow parked domains to point to another directory. I checked that a couple of months ago and its a big no no because of problem they have experienced.
Actually parked domains are not standard on hostroute, and you need to email and ask them. If they find you pointing parked domains to a subdirectory, they will terminate your account immediately - they made this crystal clear before granting auth to use the parked domain facility.
I've just signed up for a reseller account on hostroute too - seems excellent. Email support is literally within minutes which is pretty impressive.
Good start - thanks Frostie for the recommendation.
but why the low 10 gig limit?
"Special offer, 2 for a £1"
Depends what your website is about, how much graphics you use, how much css you use, how many visitors you have.
Me? With a couple of thousand visitors a day, then 10Gb is fine and dandy, and if it ever got to the point of being to small, I would just slap all my images on to another account and call them across
Jobs a goodun
