Found a good host any recommendations?

While browsing around when I'm supposed to be working

, I found the following host based in the UK, if anyone has any good (or bad) to say about them, do let me know!

I'd consider somewhere like http://www.httpme.com first, which I currently use, as they have a good reputation and are reasonably priced. E.g. their plan 2 is $45/month and seems broadly similar to the place you mentioned, which costs £35.25/month. So HTTPME are cheaper and also have bigger plans you can move up to if needed.

Alternatively, a similar host to HTTPME is http://www.bluewho.com - I'm not with them yet but may give them a go for my next set of sites. They're even cheaper, costing $30/month for a similar deal.

There may well be other places, too. A good place to look for info on hosts is http://www.webhostingtalk.com - just search the forum for the web host you're considering and see what people have to say about it.

I've found that US hosts offer better deals (both in cost and facilities) than UK hosts and so long as your domain name ends in .co.uk Google is quite happy to list them as UK sites even though they're hosted in the US.

I would not afree with that statement, there are good UK deals to be found if you look in the right places.

The majority of US hosts you come across actually oversell big time, for example dot5hosting offering 2GB space 100GB bandwidth for $10 is ridiculous.

Note to newbies: Overselling is when a host sells the space/bandwidth you bought, but do not use. For example if you purchase a plan which has 100GB space, and you only use 5GB then the host can sell another 10 accounts using the space you bought but did not use.

I checked out your host and couldn't use the demo to see what's available "page cannot be found/displayed" error!(http://www.beamhost.co.uk/cpanel.html) .
Can you host unlimited domains on the "Professional" option? If not then £69.00 per month is way out of my budget! :eek:

Try http://67.18.53.36:2082/ with user/pass cpdemo, our Virtual Private Servers are currently out of stock and this is the reason as to why we are NOT currently offering commission on VPS referalls.

Our VPS plans are specifically designed for unlimited domain hosting due to being similar to dedicated servers, we will have some news this week on stock status (most proberly Friday).
