I think I'm a little lost. I upgraded to FP2003 last year, from FP98 after finding the hosting package I wanted to use was more up to date than me.
I've finally decided to take a look at sharepoint services, now it will do nicely for a project I ran a few years ago, but have Microsoft really wasted all this power on a behind the scenes internal website solution that cannot be viewed as a live website and by thousands of others, or have I missed a trick?
I'm sure MS sell content management systems but it does seem a bit of a waste for this to be an internal limited use site only, considering the face value power of the editor. I'm pretty sure there must be editors that allow you to create news updating and community based websites on the fly, so why did they miss the trick here?
Anyway, initial question, is sharepoint services only for internal use rather than the web at large?
