I wouln't bother personally, we used them for one a while back and found them very inflexible.. What they described as a dedicated server simpy wasn't.
I'd go elsewhere.
Just wondering if anyone uses 1&1's dedicated server packages and whether they are any good? Looking for a new dedicated server to add to the collection and was considering 1&1. I have some shared hosting with them and alot of domain names just thought it might be worth giving their dedicated servers a bash. Plus they offering unlimited bandwidth with signups at present.![]()

I've got one with them, never had any issues with the server, uptime has been excellent, support has been good. Just don't let your credit card expire as they like to cut you off!

I believe the servers are in Germany. That means that Google might well think your site is in Germany by its IP address. Great for targetting Germans - not so good for UK customers.
Never email donotemail@WeAreSpammers.com
Hmmm well most of the websites im going to run off .co.uk so I dont know whether it will affect it dynamoo what do you think?
Who else is good in the UK then that most of you would suggest to use? The main reason is im after relaying alot of mails each month through it, not for sp@mIm after this sooner rather than later as well. Looking for someone with same pricing roughly.
Would you think its worth considering US servers?
Thanks guys!

I have a client had 2 1&1 servers - Linux in Germany, Win in US. The German one suffered several hardware faults over a period of 2 weeks or so and the support was non existent - suffice to say all PHP/MySQL sites now run on the Windows box in the States and we are dropping the other one. The US one has been good when issues have arisen as the support staff have been a lot better.
Best service used so far is Clara Net (docklands) - but that is co-lo of own box.
