Anyone setup a cobalt raq before?

Hi guys

Just wondering if any of you have setup a Cobalt RAQ? I got one the other week as a pet project at home and ive had loads of ups and downs. The other day the thing decided to dump its settings so ive upgraded the OS on the RAQ 4 to RAQ 550 OS.

My problem is im getting lost around the DNS side of things for the domain setup and the mail. Just wondering if anyone with experience wouldnt mind guiding me a bit as ive gotten to that stage where ive went round and round losing track of what I have and havent done Plus my fiance is getting fed up of me sitting at it in my spare time

Just thought it was worth asking as online there is not very many place in terms of communities and resources for the RAQs.

Thanks guys. Appreciate your time.

I've set up email and dns settings on RAQs using the graphical interface. It's not trivial. Have you hit a specific problem?

All im trying to do is setup a domain name which goes to the server and can run email on that domain. Pretty simple just I seem to be struggling at the side where its DNS and mail settings. If you PM me i'll send you the details and see where im going wrong? Mails just bounce. The domain in question is at 1&1 internet and you can either use their DNS or you own. What I did was create 2 subdomains ns1.domain and ns2.domain and my initial thoughts was to use that for the DNS on the RAQ. In that ive glued the A records to the IP of my RAQ and in the www.domain ive set the DNS servers to be that of ns1 and ns2. Dunno whether im going down the right avenue or whether im doing something stupid?

Is the interface the same as the older RAQ 440s ? I used to have a bank of those that were always in need of tweaking - and still remember a few things. Also probably still have the name of a very good (and affordable) RAQ specialist who bailed me out when things got too tough if you want me to dig it out.

Yeah it would be useful to have some contacts for it. As I say its only really a pet project but its taking over my spare time The OS is far better on the 550 than that of the old RAQ 4 and 3 OS. Its actually the mail setup of things im struggling with at present. Got pretty much the rest setup. Just getting bounces on the mail :/

Fairly sure that this is the guy that we used: http://www.cobaltsupport.com
He had some eastern block Cobalt whizz who seemed to sort things out pretty quickly.
