1&1 Dedicated server

Hi,

Just wanted to find out anybody's experience of using 1&1's dedicated servers. We are thinking about going for their root server at £59 / month. Are they any good?

I've got a customer who insisted on using 1&1 as he was already with them on a shared package/email setup. The server has been OK but on the one occasion I did have to call them they were clueless - once the helpdesk script had been exhausted it was game over.

Not only is the support poor, but hardware setup is suspect as well, hard drives often disconnect due to loose cables.

hmmmm.... has anybody had a good experience with them??

Okay, if we rule them out, can anybody recommend any other suppliers for a dedicated server.
