Rackspace alternative?

I've currently got two servers hosted with FastHosts, I've been in touch with FastHosts to get one of them upgraded to a higher spec - however for some crazy reason this is not an option as I am in a contract, I would have to wait until the contract ends, then upgrade... This is totally nuts in my opinion. For this and other reasons (their recent hacked / password change request, flooding concerns, downtime... more here Fasthost b*lls up ) I am looking to change hosts.

My current setup costs £148+vat / month, I'd love to change to Rackspace, but the same setup would cost £950+vat / month. Though I'm prepared to pay more, not £800 more!

Can anyone recommend an alternative to Rackspace? The key elements I am after are

* flexable upgrade options
* Excellent reliabilty
* Fast problem fix / response time
* Windows server

Thanks for the replys, I've requested a quote from ukfast, their level of service seems very good (1 hour hardware replacement, 15min engineer guarantee ) Probably means they're damned expensive!

Got the quote back from UKFast, £424+vat per month (no setup fee, fully managed + hardware firewall). The account manager was quite pushy, looking for a quick sale.

In summary:

Fasthosts £148+vat
UKFast £424+vat
Rackspace £950+vat

well forgive me for comming once again "back" but in case you are in "favor" of rackspace you should better use MOSSO :: The Hosting System - Home but in case you want your "own system" you are better of using AWS which give you a superb service at very cheap prices ( " pay as you go" ) and with the exchange rate of the dollar agains GBP you are better off at the end as well

After spending quite some time looking into all the options, I've gone with UKFast. They have a very good SLA, 3 ring promise on the technical support line. I've got 2 x P4 Dual Core 3Ghz, 2GB ram each + dedicated Cisco 501 for £366+vat a month. They are quite open to a bit of haggling so bear this in mind if you get a quote from them.

I just need to run the gantlet with Fasthosts now so they will not automatically renew my 12 month contract. (I believe some others have struggled with this in the past)
