VPS hosting recommendation

I've been looking to run a VPS for a while. Shared hosting is OK, but eventually starts constraining your imagination.

So, on the recommendation of a good friend I went to Web Hosting UK - Windows ASP PHP MySQL Linux cPanel hosting Service

I've been with them for a couple of months now and I'm very very impressed.

The support is outstanding! any problems, hit live support and they'll sort it for you.
Server configs baffling your brain?
Just hit live support again, tell them what you want to achieve and they'll figure out the best settings for you.

Im used to shared hosting where any questions are answered during the next moon phase and server config changes are refused, (not to mention that one time where the entire site was reverted 8 months!!). With webhosting UK, it's almost like having my very own server admins who'll do as I say, when I say it

Uptime is nigh on 100% (granted only been with them a couple of months)

Daily backups, unlimited email, unlimited Databases

you get 10Gb space and 300Gb bandwidth/month for £200/year.

I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a change.

Glad to hear that you are happy with them. I have had a reseller with them for a few months and am very happy with that except that not having control over the config is a major problem already for a couple of sites hosted on it. And I notice the reseller runs very slow at times.

I have been looking at the VPS packages and had good replies from support so will probably replace a small VPS I have with the 10 Gb option once Xmas and income tax are out of the way.

I have also been looking at bytemark who offer an unmanaged VPS for the same money as webhosting - not sure I am ready for an unmanaged just yet although I prefer the idea of having redhat based hosting.

it looks like all the vps come with cpanel. any packages without cpanel
