Clook no good any other hosting suggestions?

All my important AM sites have dedicated servers so this isn't for them, but what I need is a reseller server somewhere to host some clients accounts, I currently share a Clook server with a uni mate who has some of his clients on there too.

We are thinking of moving as they are having trouble with hotmail blocking emails and they aren't going to pay to use the Sender Score program (i don't think they should btw). Now I don't care about hotmail, but the clients are less understanding.

So suggestions of where we could go please. Probably want a UK based server as a lot of the sites are .coms and I'm not sure about the whole telling Google which market you are targeting thing as yet.

I know there are plenty of posts on here about this sort of thing, but I'm looking for some current advice as things can change.

Sorry mate, can't recommend any good UK webhosts. The ones we've tried, such as Heart Internet, haven't been that great.

We use Clook for some websites and they have been brilliant. Are emails from Clook-hosted sites being blocked by Hotmail? Always? Sometimes?

I have used these guys for a few years with no complaints at all......a nice surprise after dealing with money grabbing retards for years:

UK Joomla hosting, low cost and free PHP hosting with unlimited MySQL databases.

Don't be put off by their name (5quid host), it really doesnt reflect their levels of service or response time. Oh and they do a small free plan if you want to try them out...I say small, its big enough to run a decent sized Joomla site and comes with mySQL..

I'm in need of a decent UK host aswell for a couple of websites. Uptime is the most important for me. I'm checking out the ones above but just not feeling them, anyone to voice their opinions?

Personally I've been very happy with:

eukhost.com

and their 24hr chat support is excellent.

I see you posted on the clook forums Nadeem. so you know where we are now. Some Clook IPs are having more trouble than others it seems. Depends which you are on, I have two one is affected the other isn't. But I don't see the point in moving internally if the other could be affected at any time. It is also impossible to move sites internally at clook without some downtime as the DNS switches.

Re: Clook no good any other hosting suggestions?

The problem is with hotmail, not the host.

The issue can be helped by ensuring that none of the clients you host use redirects for any of their mail accounts to an ISP which has spam filtering/reporting. If they use redirects and spam is being redirected, their/your host IP address will be shown as the source of the spam, not the original sender. This will get their host blocked for at least 24 hours.

After ensuring that you have no redirects in your client mail profiles, the easy option is to not accept any hotmail or AOL email addresses or filter these out for any bulk mailings.
