Just bought a new domain name and I really want to start using proper hosting services. Currently the sites in my sig are hosted on a friends' space and I have no knowledge of hosting services etc.
I want to attach a wordpress blog to the new domain; any recommendations of simple hosting services? Preferably with ability to use permalinks. Cheers
I recently signed up with Web Hosting UK | Dedicated Server | VPS Hosting to host a couple of blogs, so far so good, no down time (yet) cpanel with Fantastico so you can set up a basic wordpress install in minutes and support on mesenger (although I don't expect to see them this week).
I've purchased this hosting and installed a blog but I can't view any of the files on the internet and so I can't finish installation using the install.php file. I can see them on the server in the publichtml/www folder, Dreamweaver can see it's on the server so why can't I see them in my browser instead of a Not Found? Frustrated
I'm currently redesigning the template files of this site as I speak, which I imagine you're talking about. The description will include the code and then underneath is the link for users to click through to the site which is automatically created. This description is "the excerpt", a wordpress function that either calls an excerpt that I write or the first paragraph of the post. Because I haven't edited the posts yet to include excerpts, Wordpress is simply pulling the first paragraph through which probably doesn't include the discount codes to be used. Hope that makes sense, I really want my affiliate marketing to be as ethical as possible, honest! I should really put the blog into maintenance mode whilst I work on it
Plus so far I think I've had one sale through that site, so I don't think too many visitors are getting pissed off... Should have it sorted within an hour.
