  US Hosting Recommendations

Hi All

Can I have your recommendations for US hosting (i.e. US based servers), my minimum requirements being:

ASP.net 2.0
PHP
MySQL
Hosting of multiple domains

I will probably go for a reseller account, but might consider a VPS or dedicated server depending on cost.

Good performance, reliability and customer support are more important than it being super cheap.

I'm looking for recommendations from current end users of US hosting services.

Thanks All

Accelerator

westhost.com - they run special promotions quite often. If they don't have one when you visit, wait a few days to see what else is going to be on offer. Just now they have $9.99 for 20 Gb, unlimited domains.

Excellent support. I hosted a client there and could find little to fault them. The only thing you need to do is tweak the httpd.conf on the apache host to set VirtualHost correctly to answer to IP address, not broadcast.

Is the ASP.NET definitely a must have?

If your website has UK based its better go with UK based hosting. However, if you are looking for US based servers Resellerchoice is a good option.

It is for me, but feel free to make your non-ASP.net recommendations too as it may be of interest to someone else.

Hi All

Please keep the recommendations coming. I'm still probably a month away from signing up, but I'd love to hear from end users who have had a good US hosting experience.

Cheers

Thumbs up Re: US Hosting Recommendations

bluehost.com are on CJ, they charge $95 (or thereabouts) for one year with domain name included, they pay £45 commission!! 15,000 GB data transfer per month, 1,500 GB websapce, unlimited domains, $50 free adwords spend, $50 free yahoo spend (both on new accounts), shell access (ssh) after sending them photo-id, mod_rewrite switched on, and so much more.

They auto-accept affiliates on cj (I think), so go get signed up before visiting them.

I have multiple accounts with them, and have never had a single problem. If they were a woman, I'd be begging for marriage.

No ASP or .NET though

I use hostagator, lowest package does fine for me (I think its called croc). I dont use them for any important sites, but I dont think in the 8 months I have used them there has been any downtime. Customer services are also great. £5 ($9.99) a month

  Re: US Hosting Recommendations

hostgator is one of the hosts that was hit by the rootkit malware in December. Did you have any downtime over that while they cleaned the servers?

Does anyone know who the UK hosts are that have been hit this month?

Bluehost phone you after you sign-up, so be sure to use a phone number that you are within reach of.
