Looks like you've had more luck that me. I'm now getting a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.

UPDATE
Our engineers believe the issue with mysql11 is now resolved.

Unfortunately due to the problem with mysql13 this is taking a much larger amount of time to resolved. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will provide more information when we can.

  Re: Streamline

Hosting all round seems to be pretty much a lottery until you're up into the realms of dedicated boxes with Rackspace for a few hundred per month.

Before I got to that stage, in the last year I've put black marks against the following:

1and1 - don't believe the hype, regularly goes down, and their support team won't tell you anything you don't know already. Cheap as chips if all you want is a blog to host pictures of your cat on though.

Heart - not bad in terms of uptime, just dog slow most of the time, very cheap though, OK for lightweight niche sites.

Pipeten - worst of the lot, - pulled a live eCommerce site in what I can only describe as a 'strop'. As soon as that site's moved the contents of the chat with their 'support' team is going on my blog.

If you just want something cheap, I have a VPS with Eukhost who have been very good to me, there have been some problems but you can get someone on a live chat session in seconds at any time of day and they are genuinely helpful. If they can maintain standards they get my vote. However, I've seen other golden boys on this forum go down the pan in less than six months . I based my Affilistore tutorials last year on their hosting.

It seems that getting through these problems until you have the funds for decent hosting is just one of the challenges of getting started. Everyone you talk to has a similar tale.

  Thumbs down Re: Streamline

One of my sites is down again. Intense Poker takes about 3 mins to load any page or just crashes out! Streamline gave me 6 months free hosting to apologise for the disgrace on the weekend. It took nearly 20 support tickets saying that a GUARANTEE of 99.9% uptime means you can't have 3 consecutive days down to get it though! Even if there is no other downtime over the 2 years, it's 0.4% of the total hosting time meaning they can achieve at most 99.6%! I think I've been getting uptime of around 70% for the last month on one site.

Despite the fact my hosting doesn't run out until next February, I'm going to be transfering my domains elsewhere.

Within a week of first setting up an account with them, I could see that the time and effort I would have to waste with them would far outweigh the benefits, so wrote off the £200 I'd spent on a two year hosting deal and said goodbye to them, closing the account (falling foul of their ridiculous T&Cs and not getting my money back guarantee). Looks like it was the right decision to make.

  Re: Streamline

My m/b went down for around 5 minutes yesterday with the previous message but with a difference.

It said I was on mysql4. I'm not, I'm on 13 so why did that come up. Wierd one!

Gone down again this evening.

Always seems to be when I have a heavy load on the message board. 40 users online? Pfftt! board gone.

  Re: Streamline

I've given up. I've bought a VPS with Eukhost and am in the process of moving things over. So far I couldn't be more happy. Their support is AMAZING. Or maybe I've just been with Streamline for too long and forgotten what support is?

Anyway, I'll let you know how things progress but so far I'm a very happy customer.
