Question 1&1 database server is down

I don’t know if this is the correct place, but is the 1&1 server down?
More specifically: their database server! I’ve got 2 accounts with 1&1 and all my sites went down all together at 12.39pm  !!!
Anybody with the same problem? Yes, I contacted them, but... Still waiting for the answer.

Re: 1&1 database server is down

Both my sites hosted with 1and1 are fine but my blog is bringing up a HTTP 500 internal server error message ... I use a 1and1 data base for it.

Hadn't got a clue what the problem was and started another thread thinking it was a Wordpress issue ... didn't even consider a problem with the database with my sites being ok ... doh!

Going to try and contact 1and1 to see how long the problem will last and will post an update if I get any where (don't hold your breath )

That’s a relief, I'm not alone I started checking all my config files... My html sites are fine, the problem is with the wordpress blogs and it’s definitely the 1&! server! I contacted them almost 2h ago still no answer

Angry Re: 1&1 database server is down

I wish I had thought to look here for moral support.

I rang 1&1 this morning saying who deleted my database in the early hours. I even sent a security notice to wordpress as I had this in my log file at the time the database disappeared:

216.240.132.119 - - [11/Mar/2008:00:55:28 +0100] "GET /w00tw00t.at.ISC.SANS.DFind HTTP/1.1" 400 335 - "-" "-" "-"

I am running wordpress 2.3.2 with the latest xmlrpc.php issued with 2.3.3. Finally spoken to someone in accounts in Slough who finally admitted that they were having a problem - I wanted to cancel my contract as their tech team are saying that it will take them 24-48hours to restore database. My fault I should have had a backup.

Anyway cheer up, all we need is a google bot to determine that our loading speeds are too slow and our rankings go with it

My blog is back ... hopefully the problem is fixed ... but I see I'm not the only one who has customer service issues with 1and1

Re: 1&1 database server is down

Well my managed server is still down. I have had to cancel contract as I cannot afford the risk to my business.

Luckily I have always diversified my suppliers if servers for this very reason. Problem is that i chose 1&1 to host a new business and as yet it wasn't worth backing up files - or so i thought !!!

Re: 1&1 database server is down

I had awful problems with 1&1 last year so have diversified a lot of my sites away from them. Keep a few with them in case my other hosting goes to pot.

I also have domians registered with them i want to move to another supplier but not sure how i do this they keep auto renewing my domains

Not sure if this will help in your particular situation but I've cancelled a few domain names that I didn't need any more using the steps laid out here ... 1&1 Webhosting FAQ | Cancelling domains or additional items

Hopefully it might point you in the right direction.

Don't know how to move domains from 1and1 to another company though ... sorry

Re: 1&1 database server is down

Not sure if this is related? but my 1&1 hosted wordpress sites will not update. They load ok, but when I write a new article they do not publish.

Any ideas why this happens
