    Hi,

For some of my own personal sites I'm currently with a web hosting company (on a reseller package) that I saw in a magazine. The service is a joke - my websites have just came up after several hours (possibly longer) of being down/incredibly slow.

Very often throughout the day I'll go to check my sites or the sites of my clients - only to find that it isn't there! So much for seo, business etc.

The hosting sites own site has 100% uptime needless to say.

I need advice on moving to a new hosting account.

I have around 30 domains, and about 5 websites. The websites all use php 5 (I need php 5) and make heavy use of MySQL databases. I plan to at least double the number of sites I have over the next 6 months.

Traffic is limited just now, but will grow quite a bit over the next 6 months.

Can anyone recommend either a very good shared hosting service, or a reliable and reasonably inexpensive dedicated server service?

    Thanks

Was in the same situation myself a few years ago, and after consulting here whent with Clook

Have a reseller account plus a dedicated server with them now. Reseller account has probably had 99.999% uptime over the last 2 years. Only downtime I can remember was when they moved to a new building.

Clook answers tickets in minutes rather than hours or day which is a big bonus.

    PHP5 - yes

Migrating - if your current site uses CPanel it is very easy to migrate. We moved from Fasthosts which didn't use CPanel, but was just a case of downloading the web files and uploading, and dumping the MySQL data and uploading it.

As Clook says - a dedicated server is not a replacement for reseller hosting - something which I agree. The dedicated server hosts a message board that is very heavy on "Server Load", so this dictates the dedicated bit. Any host would quickly eject it from a shared server account. With a reseller account the server you sit on is fully "managed" at no extra cost.

Try dropping a PM to Jack Russell on here.

I'm sure eukhost would be good for you - I've no complaints at all and I've tried a few hosts!

    see thread: Reviews of EUKHost.com?

As you have heavy usage of MySQL, I would highly recommend you our VPS Hosting package. You can have a look at our VPS plans at VPS Hosting - Virtuozzo WHM Cpanel VPS Hosting- UK Virtual Private Servers. Drop me a PM if you need any further assistance
