Resiliant Hosting?

I currently use 1&1 for my hosting and they've been pretty good.

I've got to the point where (actually been there for a while) I can't really afford my server to be out of action for any period of time.

One and one are pretty vague on their time to fix faults but having spoken to them a few times it seems like it's 48 hours; this is not really good enough.

I'm looking for a UK hosting provider who have a guaranteed fix time and/or the possibility that I could have a redundant server that I can switch to it if there's a hardware fault or if I screw up.

I'm really looking for a dedicated root server.

Can anyone make recommendations? What do you do?

Have a look at Dedicated servers & dedicated hosting & dedicated server from UKFast, UK's best hosting provider they have guaranteed 100% uptime I have three servers with them and have been very happy so far. They are not cheap though, so it's best to haggle to get a good deal.

Rackspace are the hosters of choice. Not cheap though.

If you are sensitive to green issues, you might like to know that Rackspace has just opened their new data centre at Slough. This is the data centre that was being talked about last year, which will run on power from wood chips and other renewable materials. A press release went out a couple of weeks back.
