1&1 Hosting Down Anyone else have problems?

My 1&1 hosting is down does anyone else have problems.

I cant even access my dashboard online

Does anyone know what the free phone help desk number is.

All 1&1 sites being down is not good

Had loads of problems with them last year.

I finally got to my control panel and found the 0800 number but they say my site is ok and my search stats suggest people can access the site.

The strange thing is i cant from here, i get a 404 msg with 1&1 msg saying

Error 404 - Not found
Your browser can't find the document corresponding to the URL you typed in.

I dont understand why this is happening as if i had internet connection problems all sites would not load, but my site stats suggest people can access the site odd odd

any ideas guys

Could be DNS issues between you and your server - might be a server down somewhere out in the ether that you would normally be jumping through to get there - could be just your ISP, or an even more localised issue. Might be worth getting some monitoring setup as they will check from 3 or 4 locations around the world and should only report genuine positives if the server is down.

For my sins I still use 1and1.

For the last year I've been using serviceuptime.com (free service checks each half hour from different locations).
This service gives me a pretty good idea how good/bad the hosting is.

P.S. Also can be used for checking uptime of networks and/or merchants you are promoting.

thanks for the advice guys seems ok now, I am on my work net connection so cant really invesigate, seemed to only effect my hosted sites could surf elsewhere including other 1&1 sites.

Just means I want to move the last few sites off 1&1 hosting
