I did a week's trial with Tagadab and got a VPS which I was happy with. The tech spec was good and the support was also pretty good (although not 24/7).

The only thing was that I had Plesk installed and I found the options that you have completely overwhelming, having only used shared hosting in the past.

Is this just Plesk and is cPanel any better or do you need to be technically minded to go to VPS/Dedicated servers?

Any advice from peeps who have done this and aren't major techies would be great! :tup

    Thanks.

If you take a managed dedicated server then you don't need to be technically minded...I imagine VPS' are pretty similar.

For example we take care of software updates for our customers, if you do find the server control panel options a bit overwhelming you can usually just ignore it, and only go in there to create new accounts. Then you can just use the regular control panel as with any shared hosting account.

There is no major difference in features offered on Plesk and cPanel. The only difference is their interface. Plesk runs on Linux as well as Windows whereas Cpanel is Linux only. Also, Plesk is one of the easier control panels to use and has some security built in that cpanel doesnt have such as a better directory structure which includes a better method of handling domains. Both come with a lot of the same features including a script installer whether it be application vault or fantastico, ability to have resellers, etc.

We offer Plesk as welll as cPanel on our servers. If you can let me know your requirements in detail, I can help you with the best hosting plan

You don't need to be technically sound if you are considering VPS or Dedicated Server with cPanel or Plesk control panel. Control Panel makes life easy. Web Hosting provider like us are there to take care of your VPS/Dedicated Server management.

Jack / Josh - are you from the same company but market yourselves as two different websites?
