One of Webgains’ ongoing objectives is to help affiliates and merchants form mutually beneficial relationships. Communication is obviously key to success and, after consultation with merchants and affiliates, we have expanded the communication tools on the Webgains platform. In particular, we have made some changes we believe will allow affiliates to have more control over what communications they receive, how they receive them and from whom.
What do the changes do?
Affiliates can now choose to receive only the information that interests them from the Webgains merchants they are subscribed to:
Firstly, each user can specify what information they want and don’t want to be receiving by email. Furthermore, they can drill down to each program they are joined to – no need for a blanket approach to communication; you can receive what you want from each of the programs.
Secondly, you can control what communications you receive from the Webgains network, and specify if your preferences apply to all Webgains countries or specific ones only. Network emails are now categorised according to 3 categories:
•Affiliate newsletter
•New programs
•Voucher codes
Affiliates can also specify whether they want to be contacted directly by merchants by email or phone – you can add in separate email address and phone number which will be visible to merchants if you wish so.
In addition, merchants can now categorise the emails they send to their affiliates, based on the nature of the communication:
Emails can be flagged up as:
•Commission change
•Cookie period change
•Change to terms and conditions
•Suspended program
•Program closing warning
•Program closure
•Affiliate incentives
•Consumer incentives
•Performance targets
•Voucher codes
•General communications
Based upon which categories are selected, relevant emails will be received only by those affiliates who have chosen to receive those particular emails, resulting in less unwanted email noise and more efficient information transfer.
Where do I find the new settings?
All settings are controlled through the new functionality: Account-->Your settings-->Email preferences.
An upcoming enhancement to this will be to specify the medium through which you receive the alerts.
Other small changes you should know about:
•MSN: you can now specify the MSN address you want Webgains staff to use to contact you
•Web Service: A link to our web service for remote access to your campaigns can be found in Reports-->More Reports-->Web Services
•Callback scripts: The callback set up has been moved to Reports-->More Reports-->Web Services
All the above are in addition to the Webgains blog, with updates on all news from our programs, the Webgains affiliate newsletter and the posts on the affiliates4u forum.
We hope that the new tools will help affiliates and merchants manage their communications more effectively, and lead to enhanced relationships and increased results.
For feedback on the new tools (always welcome!) please contact support@webgains.com.

I've unsubscribed from commission change emails to keep my blood pressure stable.
Is it possible to un-subscribe to foreign affiliate emails?
All of a sudden I'm getting bombarded with this. Thanks.
Hi,
yes, you can define which countries you want to receive communications from.
Log in, go in Your settings-->Email preferences. In the Network emails part there is a drop down. Select the country and specify your preferences for that country.
Alternatively, click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom which will unsubscribe you from all countries' newsletters. You can then specify which countries you want to be receiving emails from.
thanks
