New Product section launched.

Last month saw the launch of our new product section selling chess set combinations. Through customer feedback we realised that what people wanted was the ability to buy a complete chess set (board, pieces and case) in one go. Without having to worry about matching up sizes and wood types.

Plenty of new great bundle deals will be added to this section in coming weeks and months. They all represent a saving compared to buying each item individually and are helping to give us the edge over the competition.




The Patrick Moore Chess Set

We are extremely proud to have been involved in a one-off project to make a custom chess set for none other than Sir Patrick Moore.
In conjunction with King Edwards School in Bath a large luxury chess set with pegged pieces was created to allow Patrick to play chess without knocking the pieces over. He loves playing chess but recent health issues meant that he was unable to move the pieces around the board without knocking them over.

A unique chess set was created using one of our luxury chess boards and a set of Broadbase Staunton chess men that were expertly modified by the school DT department before being returned to us for final finishing. The end result was one very fine chess set that now has its place in Patrick's home.



Growth of the program

We are delighted to announce that our affiliate program continues to go from strength to strength with new affiliates joining daily, impressions increasing and sales growing steadily.

We would like to remind all of our new affiliates that we are on hand to create any media you need to promote our program. We are also offering custom discount codes to all affiliates, please just contact us with your requests & our in house designer will be pleased to create you some custom content.


Telephone Orders



We would like to remind all affiliates that our phone number is NOT displayed to viewers of the home page who enter the site through a webgains affiliate link. All of our products can be purchased online without the need for telephone contact so our leakage points are minimal.

Commissions & Cookies

Our commission remains at 8% with a 10% rate for affiliates who generate more than ten sales per month. Our cookie length remains at 365 days. Our average basket value is currently still hovering around the £45 - £50 mark but is rising steadily as we add more and more products with higher price points.

By the end of 2009 we expect to have tripled the product range and extended our range to include products greater in value than £1000. Watch this space for updates on average basket values as they rise.
