New products now live on the site

July saw the addition of a number of new products to the website. We are proud to be stocking the superb quality veneer chess boards from Rechapados Ferrer, Spain's most formidable chess board producer. We have added twenty five of his fine chess boards to the site and plan to add more in coming months. We have also paired up these boards with some of our best selling chessmen to create some great value chess set bundles. This means our chess set combinations category has grown by nine products.


Video web site testing

July was also the month we began extensive usability testing on the site which has proven very fruitful. The results have allowed us to modify and improve our checkout system with an aim to lowering our cart abandonment rate as much as possible. This area is one that we continually seek to improve in order to maintain a healthy conversion rate.


Double commission incentive

We are nearing the end of our qualifying period for the double commission incentive. There is still time to qualify! In case you need reminding, we are going to offer two affiliates double commission from August 8th - September 8th. This will be awarded to the most improved long standing affiliate, and the most improved new affiliate. Improvement is based upon traffic and sales during the period July 7th - August 7th 2009. There is no better time to get promoting the program and sending us converting traffic. With a steady increase in our average basket value there is plenty of commission to be made.


Average basket value now at £63!

Our average basket value has officially risen to £63, that's an increase of around £13 since the program started. With new higher than average value products being added every couple of weeks we expect this figure to rise considerably.

Christmas Stocking...

Efforts have begun to start stockpiling stock ready for the Christmas period. The Christmas period represents the busiest and most profitable season for The Regency Chess Company. Many of our products are very exclusive and hand made, and not produced in large quantities. It's therefore vital that we start stocking up on these now, in time for the busy season. Christmas will represent massive earning potential for our affiliates. Chess sets continue to be a very popular present at Christmas time and we expect to see sales increase hugely across all price points.
